LGBTQIA+ words being censored / automodded
Recently, Twitch has added the words Trans, Gay and Lesbian to the list of auto-mod words.
These should be removed from the default auto moderation tools, as the words in and of themself are not inherently offensive.

Trans people exist, Gay people exist and Lesbians exist. Stop trying to erase us. As a Trans person this is very disappointing and if the words are not uncensored it will lead to people discontinuing the use of your service.

I am a trans woman, and I exist on and off of Twitch. My existence and livelihood are not hurting anybody and should not be censored in any way, shape, or form. What Twitch is doing is absolutely ridiculous.

Twitch was built on community, we shouldn’t be censoring the ability to talk about ourselves, and essentially bar a section of our community from existing.

I shouldn’t have to worry that my identity can be censored so easily

Why should describing myself be censored? That's just silly!

If the fact that I, a trans lesbian, exist offends you, you may want to take a look at why that is.

Trans, gay, and lesbian are not offensive words. They are words I use to describe myself.
Banning these words is only going to make it harder for people like me to find community and share our experiences.
Stop trying to erase LGBTQ+ people! -

I as a transgender woman who also likes other women (sorry can't say the word apparently) hope this was a attempt made in some form of good faith, though I feel this is a kindergartener level understanding on how to solve the problems of transphobia and homophobia. It would be like banning the word straight.

Auto-mod is a function to protect minority's against slurs, and streamers from add-spam, and its already failing at that can we please exclude normal words from Auto-mod, cause this is crazy man. Like you will need the words Trans, Gay and Lesbian to talk about topics regarding them, its no slur, no insult. Keep these words out of Auto-mod! Cause people can not be ERASED.

These words are not bad, not taboo, not insulting and not negative in any way. I am proud to be trans and it is ridiculous that these words are part of auto-mod

Ok, now I'm convinced that Twitch is targeting us queer people and attempt to erase our existence.
Entertainment & Theatre had always been a source of diversity and a stage for people to express themselves. By restricting free speech, you essentially work against the concept of self expression through performance and entertainment.
We exists, and we are people, we're not toys, objects, or someone else's properties.

I exist. I am trans. I am queer. I am a lesbian, a gay woman. These aren't bad things, they are just facts. Automod making it harder for me to talk about myself doesn't protect anyone. While there are ways to use these words offensively, their primary usage is for self expression. Please remove them from the list of auto moderation default words

What's next, censoring "human"? This change is targeted and immoral. Apsolutely disgusting.

Yeah this is ********. Not even worth being 'polite' or 'demure' about, anyone who thinks censoring our mere existence is okay needs to be made to understand what it feels like to have your mere existence erased from a first person POV. I'm really tired of ******** pretending my mere existence is a dirty secret that shouldn't exist.

If our completely normal lives and identities are controversial, political topics, then the same should apply to the majority. If this was truly out of anything other than bigotry, "straight" and "cis" would be there too. But they aren't, are they?
Pick a lane. You can't cherry pick your standards. Either revert this change or commit to it and add the others. But we all know the latter will never happen.
And sure, maybe there's potential for insults or offensive speech. But there is for every word. I can call you a flaccid doorknob and offend you, can't I? So why not add those words to the list too, huh?

Gay I could HYPOTHETICALLY understand based on the nature of people (specifically middle schoolers and those around them) using it as an insult, but I'm still not happy about it being included.
Trans and lesbian? How are those offensive at ALL to talk about? Unless the channel owner is blatantly transphobic/homophobic, in which case they should not be rewarded by being allowed to continue streaming, or someone in the Twitch chat is blatantly transphobic / homophobic, in which case they should be punished for their hatred of minorities and NOT for their language they use to spread hate against or about them, these words in and of themselves hold NO malice. -
