LGBTQIA+ words being censored / automodded
Recently, Twitch has added the words Trans, Gay and Lesbian to the list of auto-mod words.
These should be removed from the default auto moderation tools, as the words in and of themself are not inherently offensive.

Srsly wat? Gay, trans, lesbian are just neutral words that each describe more than one thing too.

i can kinda picture you guys being too helpful by half here and assuming that people only use "gay" as an insult—which would be pretty dang ignorant to start with—but if any of y'all knew any queers who were comfortable being around you all you'd know that we say "i'm gay" constantly. It's like a self-affirmation and an attack against the norm at the same time, and right-wingers hate it. Saying "i'm gay" is the "rubbing it in our faces" about which they keep crowing, and i think y'all know that on some level.

Yeah, no way. The LGBTQ+ phobia displayed is incredibly disgusting, and the fact that Twitch thought it was okay to automod the community is shameful

Apsolute disgusting behaviour. Stop trying to censor people just trying to live their lives. It isn't their fault that some incels can't take the fact that people are happier than them.

I have my 'Sexuality, sex, or gender' ruleset as 'less filtering', and even now the terms are getting blocked. This is ridiculous.

Noting also that 'straight' or 'cis' is not a banned term.

Just wanna start this off by saying I'm gay and I would genuinely be ****** if Twitch actually enforces this, but I want to first verify this information.
From what I know, AutoMod can always be configured in the channel dashboard. And I checked and found that if the "Sexuality, sex, or gender" category is set to "Some filtering" (level 2 filter) or above, then it holds back "gay", but not "I'm gay" (and probably other messages that doesn't just say "gay"). Same thing applies to "trans" and "lesbian" vs. "I'm trans" and "I'm lesbian", which doesn't get filtered out at all even at the highest filtering level. So this is actually kinda sensible if a channel chooses to be more strict with their messages and wants to be safe than be sorry.
And also, if I'm not wrong, the default AutoMod filtering should be set to level 1, "Less filtering". So by default, it doesn't filter out a message if it just says "gay", "trans" or "lesbian" at all.
This is just what I've found. I'm not sure if I'm looking at a different section than what's being referred to, or if this filter is new and my account/channel does not have it yet.

We are not hurting anyone. If you allow artistic nudity on your site, you should allow us to be ourselves. Also, if you don't let us back in, we are just going to take over #trains instead

This would be practically the same as banning the words “Asian” or “Mexican” or any other usual words used for race, also known as It would be extremely stupid and make no sense since the words are inoffensive and the people they are describing are entirely normal and natural.

The moderation of labels used by marginalised groups is like banning a streamer because they say their white. These words hold no offensive nature and censoring them is only silencing a minority that holds no inherent danger or offensive intent

LGBTQ+ words being censored is indefensible, its an attack on a marginalised group at a time when we're under fire by governments around the world.

LGBTQIA+ should be removed from auto moderation, they are not offensive, and its literally just attacking a marginalized community. This isn't just censorship, this is attacking minorities.

That's bad, I hope they remove them from automatic moderation.

There is no real reason why LGBTQ+ people should be treated as if we are inappropriate.

This is a reason to legitimately abandon twitch as a streaming service, if they keep this heinous filter. (I definetly will.)

Twitch hosts a large number of diverse streamers, with diverse communities. This move threatens those communities to move to other services, while also harming them. This move will have direct financial ramifications, as online communities host many more affected people than a survey of the general population would indicate.
