LGBTQIA+ words being censored / automodded
Recently, Twitch has added the words Trans, Gay and Lesbian to the list of auto-mod words.
These should be removed from the default auto moderation tools, as the words in and of themself are not inherently offensive.

My life is not your politics; if you can tell me what I do with my body and my speech, I say that you should at the bare minimum be forced to cite your words and quote your sources like you claim we have to any time we speak.
How about instead of hating me for trying to make it so I can actually look in the mirror and see someone i can stand, you go look at yourself and ask yourself why what I'm doing with my body is so important to you, personally.
Also, it's been proven that people at the lower echelons of the social and skill ladders are the people who hate the most, because they're the ones to lose the most from inclusion. So ch-ch-check your privilege. -

I can understand why gay might get censored since some 8 yearold would come and say as an insult for no reason at all but its not so common that the default auto mod should take action for. these are simple word that we identify as and not slurs or swears to be take action for. we are not offended seeing those words and them getting in this list only harm us instead of protecting.
However if you guys are trying to slowly get in lines with the what powerfull figures in US has started to do, go look at mirror twitch. You have plenty of big streamers that wont simply accept your moderation getting more hostle for queer people. you already banned people who would be happy to see this change and they changed platforms for better paycheck. whole reason I see you as a platform that I feel free to stream is your protection towards queer people and if you are planing to become hostile I wont hesitate to stream on other platforms for a better paycheck.

"gay", "lesbian" and "trans" are far from slurs or insults or disrespectful at all unless used in specific context. Twitch, this is frankly a **** change and ONLY hurts the LGBTQ community.
revert this.

Why though? Why would they be banned?
Are they harming anyone? Causing some form of damage?
I don't get it. -

"When I was a teenager, I remember gay rights being weaponised politically. That always felt ugly and nasty. We look back on that, 30 years later, and those people are clearly on the wrong side of history.
”Now, there is a similar weaponization of these topics being taken by mostly the right wing, or certain sections of society, to create friction and conflict and division where it needn’t be. It’s just about people being themselves. You don’t need to be bothered about it. F**k off and let people be."

There is no reason to ban these words. Doing so is censoring the LGBTQIA+ community. Our existence is real and no one can erase us.

If, for any foolish reason, a person wants to have the words trans, gay and lesbian on their ban list, so be it, but there is no reason it should be auto-modded. The words are descriptors for people who take pride in being who they are, as they have every right to do. Yes, the words can be used with a negative connotation, but it is a way for people to take back the words/descriptors.
I agree that these words should be removed from the default auto-moderation list. -

A person's existence is not offensive. This cannot stand.

Twitch is following in the footsteps of Nazi Germany.
No, this is not a mistake they made. This is an intentional, targeted attack on the LGBTQIA+ community.
Let us make this clear. We exist, we always have, and we always will. No matter how hard these hateful, xenophobic, bigots try to censor, ban, and erase us, we will endure.
Hide behind your excuses all you want, we see you bigots for exactly what you are.

As stated, these words alone are inoffensive. They may have a history of being used to offend, but that should not dictate them being blocked out from regular use. By auto-modding these words, Twitch destroys communities and censors peoples existence.

Nazis will not win, and we will remember who sided with them. Also, doing this is illegal in Europe, where a lot of your viewers come from.

These words are not offensive, these words are not a problem, these words are simply a part of who some people are. This is clearly a malicious move towards groups of people who are in the minority, and we're tired of having to fight tooth and nail to keep our most basic rights from being stripped away from us. Tired, but not giving up. Do better Twitch

it makes no sense to ban words to describe peoples existence and more so cruel. it is actively denying the existence of people who identify by them. if this stays I have to ask, what's next? skin colour, ethnicity? these are fundamental facts about who we are and by censoring them you are choosing to harm people for things outside of our control.

Twitch You are liable if anything happens to the wonderful communities that supports Minorities. Twitch CEOs are you aware of Natzis? Because that's what Natzis did. Many people can point out the same patterns that certain nations are doing. And businesses who double peddle back will get the wrath of Economic Blackouts. We made it possible for Elon and his Tesla company to fall, we the people can do the same with you Twitch. Either Twitch completely supports Minorities for their Human Rights or Twitch ends up in the chopping block just like Vine or AOL mail.

How can you add trans, gay and lesbian to the automod words when they are accurate descriptors that many people wear with pride?? Sure they can be used in an offensive manner, but so can every word that describes someone.
If you ban those words but not 'straight', 'cis' and 'heterosexual' then it's just straight-up homophobia and transphobia.

Many of your biggest streamers and a huge percentage of the community are LGBTQ+. Doing this is shooting yourself in the foot, then reloading AND AIMING FOR THE OTHER FOOT. Knock it off. Be sensible.
