stop allowing groups like the adl and destiny from compromising the platform
destiny, who was banned from twitch loves to brigade and spread hate in general. this person along with others like ethan klein caused several middle eastern streamers to get banned for 30 days. now the adl is applying pressure against anti-zionist and pro palestinian sentiment. the adl is in support of an ongoing genocide and shouldn't be trusted. allowing these people and orgs to apply this pressure will compromise the platform.

Very sad day to see twitch capitulating to vile Islamphobes who are conducting a mass harassment campaign against Muslim and Jewish anti-Zionist creators. These people are literally on record as just trolling and not caring about antisemitism besides using it as a tool to further their deranged agenda.

The people this new rule gives in to are the very people that are trying to ruin the platform and the addition of this new rule will not stop them. They do not actually care about antisemitism, they are just using it as a tool to try and put an end to twitch. All you have to do is check the destiny subreddit. They have email templates that they send out in mass to his viewers that they use to spam advertisers with lies to get them to pull out of working with twitch.

It's a very big pitty that there is a group of anti Jewish people who wish this platform to die because twitch correctly took a stance on genocide denial, and now use kick to try and destroy twitch and you just play along with it. Saying that Jewish people are automatically Zionists is sad, and honestly very upsetting, most of my Jewish friends feel that is is very discriminatory towards them

Wikipedia literally doesn't accept the ADL as a factual source of data anymore, but Twitch is here letting them write and implement disgustingly pro-genocide rules?
Very noticeable that you did this, but people can just go on calling Muslims terrorists with no issues.

d words community uses their discord to organize brigades, creating templates for his community to send email after email, they did it to try and get hasan banned from the dnc, they're doing it now to try and get hasan banned from twitch, they're doing it to "break" twitch. they got the adl involved to "break" twitch. making any changes because of these attacks is the wrong move. what you should do is reassure advertisers that these emails are an attack on your platform and that they should be disregarded as spam. make the right choice for once.

These new rules just told trolls and bad faith actors if they hate a streamer enough, twitch will not only co-sign the harassment. It will rework their rules to make it easier to ban said streamer. Zionist is not the same as Jewish. It’s gross to let blatant Antisemitism and Islamophobia dictate your decision making.

Why is twitch giving into criticism from Destiny, a user who was rightfully banned from the platform? And why is capitulating to the ADL, an organization that readily ignores antisemitism committed by the right and cheers on Israel's genocide. Why is Twitch siding with Zionism, a colonial setteler ideology that has turned into an an ethic cleansing? Twitch is supposed to be better than this and the other platforms, the TOS and moderation are usually reasonable and inclusive. But this? This directly defends GENOCIDE SUPPORTERS from criticism and being called out. Absolutely ridiculous that the company is caving into an extremely biased organization and Destiny, an admitted Arab hater and pedophile defender. Destiny, a man who shared nude images of a 15 year old to his audience. The idea twitch is giving in to criticism from a man who spread CSAM to his audience is baffling.

On February 9th 2024 Amnesty International criticized Meta's proposed revision of its content policies regarding use of the terms “Zionism” or “Zionist.”
A one to one parrot of their conclusion is unfortunately applicable to Twitch's recent content moderation changes as a reault of succumbing to pressure, applied in bad faith, from groups and individuals that want to suppress anti-Zionist and pro-Palestinian voices.
"[Twitch] should not limit criticism of a state’s wrongful actions and curtail freedom of expression under the guise of the legitimate fight against discrimination and racism. Along with other corporations, [Twitch] has responsibilities under, among other things, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights to respect all human rights throughout their operations, including the rights to free expression and non-discrimination.”

Zionism is not antisemitic inherently nor is it a slur, these recent changes have been counterintuitive and are regressive to the platform. Free palestine drop the adl

With the rise in antisemitism, we need to address terms and rhetoric that has plagued this platform for some time.
The conflation of zionism and antisemitism as hate speech alienates jews that are antizionists and not all zionists are jewish.
The recent hate campaign against twitch has used organizations who run hate compaigns against mainstream media to bully organizations like twitch into complying with their pro israel propaganda.
We would like to formally request that Twitch rescind the recent change to the content policy that Zionism is a bannable slur and that it's a pejorative rather than a political designation.

Zionist is not a synonym or slur for jewish people. There are many Jews who oppose Zionism.
You've made a compromise with a group acting in bad faith to harm one of your top creators and benefit someone who is rightfully banned from your platform

Cynical and disappointing. Have seen no examples of streamers actually using Zionist as a slur for Jewish people, just discussion on the impact of Zionism on Palestinians

I dont get it how can ideology that promote certain kind of people to be disregarded as human, just like jim crow back in the day, can be immune from critics? There are lots of synagogues who are disappointed and disgusted with zionism either

Zionism is not Judaism, and conflating the two is abusive and antisemitic.
Banning criticism of Zionism and Zionists is an act of fascism.I repeat the words of the late Hajo Meyer, Jewish holocaust survivor :
"If we are to stay really human we must call these Zionists what they are - Nazi criminals."
Twitch can get into bed with nazi criminals all it likes, roll over like dogs for all I care. I don't have to. I won't be.
If this ban is not reversed within the month, I leave. Shrugs..nothing here at all worth compromising myself on such fundamental level.
Bluesky's rise should have been a warning to Twitch admin that there are those in the community willing to invest in freedom of speech with their time talent and money... It wont be long before an alternative to Twitch opens up and when it does, thanks to rules like this, Twitch will be finished.
I sure hope the ADL can pay your bills !

Very disappointing that you caved to this disingenuous harassment campaigns. You can comb through your own videos and see that they themselves have said this is all about trolling. First you ban people for a twitch sanctioned tier list and now you are capitulating to bad faith actors that you have know for a fact consistently launch harassment campaigns against other creators. Furthermore, you acceptance of blatant islamaphobia through people playing "twitch or terrorist."

Zionism is a chosen identity, unlike ethnicity or nationality. Additionally, it seeks the building of an ethno-state- so it is a chosen identity that consciously affects people of various ethnicities (both negatively and positively)
It is historically indisputable that many in the region around Israel have material reasons to criticize Zionism, just like it is historically indisputable that people all over the world have reasons to criticize other controversial ideologies like nationalism, for instance.
To make a move in this direction is to signal allegiance to a specific pov on a controversial issue that is attached to all sorts of partisan political debates.
I think Twitch moderation should think *very carefully* before they start moving in a partisan political direction, especially with an incoming presidential administration that has been vocally openly hostile to critical free speech. If Twitch moderation cares about free speech they will reconsider this classification.
