Sensitive social issues Bullet points need to be removed, not 'clarified'
it doesn't matter how much you 'clarify' the point of the final two bullets, they are not fit for the political category especially when contrasted with the other things in the category. Putting peoples rights in there opens up marginalized groups to hate and bigotry. We want the points REMOVED and twitch's response is completely missing the point the community has been making.
At what point does something go from 'personal experience' to 'too political'? if a streamer talks about their own right to an abortion being taken away where they live, is that personal experience or political? it is entirely subjective. Is a trans person talking about their experiences with HRT 'fact based'? Who determines this? The bigots who will undoubtedly mass report said streamers to shut them up?
"intermittent mentions of (...) sensitive social issues are not required to have the politics and sensitive social issues label" how long is intermittent? most streamers i watch like to have small conversations with chat about social issues, how long can these chats go on for?
I don't understand why you refuse to just take out the 'Sensitive social issues' point. It's what the user base is asking you to do and it is the right thing to do.

We're not going to just let this go if you keep feigning ignorance, and we won't let you hear the end of this. Why do you seem so intent on disregarding us? Frankly, it's childish and embarrassing that you keep trying to brush us off.

Twitch: do you want to talk about being gay?
Streamer: Yes!
Audience: Yes!
Twitch: Isn't there someone you forgot to ask?
Nazis: No. -

If this was a requirement hoisted upon you by your lawyers, then drag your lawyers in and have them explain why, specifically, the rule needs to exist.
If the rule is not something that is somehow required by law, get rid of it. You are quashing the ability for marginalized people to express themselves - and a far greater percentage of your streamers are marginalized than you realize. -

I have no desire to use or even see AI generated art assets or content on Twitch. I come to Twitch for the human connection with talented Vtubers and Streamers. I come to see the amazing talent that they display from Artists, Riggers, Sound Designers, Musicians, and more. What I want from Twitch is antithetical to AI. Please cease this and consider hiring real talent to make simple things for you.

So disappointing that Twitch is trying to just ignore this and hope it goes away. This is a serious issue affecting minority creators, and the fact they're content to just let it keep being an issue for these people is disappointing. Shame on you, Twitch.

Stop dismissing and belittling the community with nonanswers and dodged questions. Take action and defend, not ignore and belittle.

It is deeply disappointing that Twitch continues to avoid this topic. The number of ways this policy can be abused are too many to list. It's especially chilling knowing in the US what the incoming administration's intentions are r.e. online speech and the FCC. This just makes their job even easier.

I have to agree. There is too much wiggle room leaving it as is. Abuse and hatred towards LGBT groups is covered by the anti-harassment and discrimination policies. There is no reason for talking about LGBT issues to be locked behind a label.

I would tend to hope that what this policy is intending to do would already be covered under the anti-hate speech and anti-discrimination policies. Attempting to regulate speech simply because it touches on topics, rather than for the nature of the content therein, is woefully ill advised, and causes myself and many others great discontent with the state of the platform.

Twitch we need an answer that Clarifies what counts as polarizing, you've given a nothing answer that doesn't do anything but encourage hatred and discrimination, you refusing to say anything just furthers support those with ill intentions.

This is a scary state of affairs to be in. The amount of hatred trans women deal with on an interpersonal, legal, and structural level is unreasonable. Shutting down our ability to speak our personal experiences only serves the people on the wrong side of history as well as the griefers and bad actors who seek to silence them out of malice and spite.

Twitch can't clarify this away; it's a non-starter. There's no version of this that both doesn't trigger bigots and doesn't harm and further marginalize vulnerable groups.

It is still a discriminatory practice to demonetize people based on parts of their identity that would show up in every equality and human rights legislation anywhere on the planet, no matter how much they try to be vague about when these rules actually take.
And aside from that, Twitch still fails to understand that the platform functions entirely on the relationship the audience has with the specific streamers they connect with. If you demonetize droves of marginalized streamers and drive them off the platform, the viewers aren't going to just stay around for the right wing dudes that are gonna be left. -

I find it appalling that you would remedy the prior issue by "clarifying" what 38,000 users told you was an awful idea. We expect better from the Twitch platform.
