Intentional misuse of tags ie. Vtuber tag on non-Vtuber
There has been a recent rise in streamers misusing the tag system, most noticeably with non-Vtubers using the Vtuber tag. This makes discoverability more difficult for both streamers who are actually Vtubers, and viewers trying to use the tag system to find Vtubers. Even prominent streamers are misusing tags, so this behavior has been spreading. I'd like to ask Twitch staff to please enforce action on the misuse of tags to help the streamers and viewers who are using the tag system as intended. Banning streamers from using specific tags they have been caught and verified to be abusing them might be a helpful solution to consider.
Hi, thanks for flagging this and sharing your suggestion.
We share and understand your concerns about how the intentional, repeated misuse of tags can undermine the purpose of the tags product itself. Tags are an important discoverability feature for communities, and a powerful way for all Creators—but especially those that are underrepresented—to express their personal identity and creative vision for their content.
We also do not feel Twitch should be the judge of Creators’ personal or creative identity, so we typically only enforce against the misuse of tags when it is associated with other behavior that violates our Community Guidelines such as hateful conduct or harassment.
That said, as the VTuber community’s experience demonstrates, there are limitations to this approach and we are actively investigating additional steps we can take to protect and improve the integrity of the tags feature at scale, without infringing on good faith Creators’ personal choice to express themselves and define their content.
Our goal is to have more to share with you about the tags feature later this year.

This isn't about "personal or creative identity" there's a literal definition of what a Vtuber is!
"A VTuber (ブイチューバー, BuiChūbā), or virtual YouTuber (Japanese: バーチャルユーチューバー, Hepburn: bācharu YūChūbā), is an online entertainer who uses a virtual avatar generated using computer graphics and real-time motion capture software or technology."
These people aren't using a "virtual avatar" and are therefore NOT vtubers! It's just that simple!

So instead of inforcing your tos you're let people suffer , then I don't want to see anyone banned based on other tos issuses

Twitchs ToS enforcement is a joke

What's the point in having a ToS if you don't uphold them. Are you just gonna let them be the same way if those same tag misusing creators start streaming nude?

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Your reply to this situation is absolutely ridiculous. You've allowed "big" creators to slander users, to harass them and call us everything under the **** sun. From "pedos" to "gatekeepers" over using a tag that does not involve them AT ALL.
They are breaking YOUR TOS yet you choose to ignore it. The number of reports you have probably gotten have all been IGNORED. How to you intend in keeping creators if this is how you treat them.
This is not a time to say "We also do not feel Twitch should be the judge of Creators’ personal or creative identity" it's got NOTHING to do with that.
You are either a Vtuber or you are NOT a Vtuber.
You are allowing bigger streamers to trample on smaller creators and community all due to you being money hungry. This is not on.

Let me reword that: We don't care about the misuse of tags; we'll take actions against them when they break a different rule.
I can't wait to see streamers lie about having ADHD and Autism in their tags without any repercussions.

I don't sense any sort of sincerity with this message. Uphold your ToS Twitch so you wouldn't be seen as two-faced anymore
xQc is claiming that "he identifies as a vtubber" when clearly hasn't done it once and all his VODs have the tag on it and accuses actual Vtubers with "gatekeeping" the tag
I see, big and known streamers are just allowed to be like this to the community
because Twitch likes the bucks flowing -

@dowski you should just understand that who's abusing of the tag misuse is on purpouse because they hate the vtuber community and calling them "weirdos" and other offensive words.

Later this year? So it becomes Meta and everyone just does it. This yet again proofs that if you are just famous enough, Twitch doesnt give 2 Nickels about their own TOS.

This admin response kinda suck..

Yup, shouldn’t have expected any different from Twitch

This response from a Twitch Admin really doesn't sit well with me. Why even have a rule about misrepresenting the stream content and have a section for reporting for misused tags when you won't do anything about it until the streamers do something that is another rule violation? When the big money making streamers get away with it, it causes other streamers to do the same thing and say "well they can do it, why can't I?" when called out on their actions.

Twitch's comment here means that they are not complying with enforcing their own guidelines and TOS.
So, does that mean it doesn't apply at all anymore? How can we be sure what is enforced and what isn't anymore? Many of us have contracts with you that state this information in it as well. What does it mean for those?
Really bad answer here, Twitch.

The people abusing these tags are also people who slander the VTubers and their community! These people should not be above the rules!

@GamerZoen; you can report a stream for misuse of tags, they just don't really... Care it seems.
Report>In a live stream, video, or clip>Their content is misclassified (wrong category or tags) -
GamerZoen commented
You know, Twitch...one way of helping enforce people utilizing appropriate tags for their streams would be to allow viewers to *report a stream for misusing tags*. Otherwise big names are just going to freely abuse tags when they have no intention of actually complying with the tag.
Do. Better.

Later this year? Why will it take several months to actually address rampant abuse of the tagging feature while many of these streamers ALSO slander the entire community? Maybe vtubers and their viewers should leave and consider coming back to the platform "later this year" too?
-
LordDark_VT commented
"Later this year" aight, in the mean time your smaller creators lose on potential growth AND finances. But that's okay, whale sized creators bring in a lot of money right? Wonder how quickly that'd change if all the vtubers decided to bail ship.
