Create a "Software" category Create a "Software" category for all kinds of software. Like the games category, you can publish preview images, videos, cover art, descriptions, etc. (basically, everything like the games category), but it will contain programs like Steam, Discord, Adobe programs, Krita, Aseprite, and others. There's already a game engines category, but sometimes it includes programs that don't fit that category. I think it would be interesting to create such a category.

Show the actual data of the sorted fields when sorting custom lists When sorting custom lists by other fields like "IGDB Rating", "Release Date", or "Date Added", it would be nice to show these fields in the list so that people can view the information and confirm that the list is sorted correctly.
For example, sorting by "Date Added" would show the list of games but also show the actual date it was added:
- Game A ~~~~ 2026-03-01
- Game B ~~~~ 2026-05-01
- Game C ~~~~ 2026-08-01
Likewise if one were to sort by IGDB rating:
- Game A ~~~~ 5.6
- Game B ~~~~ 8.9
- Game C ~~~~ 9.2

Sorting custom lists by any release date In the current custom lists, you can only sort by the full release date.
Allow an option to sort by any release date for the game and not only by full release dates.
For example, in the current implementation, when sorting a custom list by release date with the oldest first, this is what the list would show:
- Game A - Full Release 2026
- Game B - Full Release 2028
- Game C - Early Access Release 2027
This is not intuitive since Game C would release earlier than Game B, and ideally should appear as follows:

Add "AND" to the filter please. Unless I am seriously missing something, currently the filter is "OR" only so if you want to find [tactical][shooters] for example, it includes games like Baldurs Gate 3 which is only in the tactical genre. Add an "AND" to all filter categories please otherwise it is pointless adding genre's/themes to the filter because it shows entries that is not in the specific selection of genres themes Only that you are looking for.

Difficulty/complexity rating It would be nice to add a feature that lets everyone rate a game's difficulty/complexity. I'm thinking of a system similar to the one used to rate the "weight" of a board game on the BoardGameGeek website (https://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Weight). Each voter selects the value they think is appropriate, and an average value is then displayed on the game’s page, along with the distribution of votes.
In the context of a video game, this information would serve the same purpose: to determine whether a game will be too difficult or complex for me, given my profile and expectations.

Advanced Search: Add option to exclude games already in Want / Playing / Played lists The beta Advanced Search is a significant improvement over the current standard search and should be considered as the primary/default search experience going forward. The filtering depth and flexibility make it much more useful for discovery and research.
One feature that would greatly improve it further is the ability to exclude games that a user has already categorized in their personal lists.
Proposed feature:
Add filters (or a simple toggle) to exclude games marked as:- Want
- Playing
- Played
Example use case:

Weather Can we get a category for weather or meteorology? We have a ton of storm chasers and meteorologists on the platform but currently they're relegated to the 'Just Chatting' category, which is not really a good fit for the content they create.
A dedicated weather category would allow viewers to more easily keep up to date with weather changes as they happen in real time, without having to shuffle through a bunch of channels that are talking about other random topics!

Indicate the store PC, Mac, or Linux games were bought from (Epic, GOG, Steam, etc) When selecting PC, Mac, or Linux as a platform, also have the option to select the game store it was (or will be) purchased on. For example, show that you played Tomb Raider on GOG, want Mass Effect on Steam, finished Skyrim on GOG, Steam, and Epic, etc.

Feature Request - Adding operation and endpoint metadata to webhook payloads The Suggestion:
I would like to suggest that IGDB includes two specific fields in the JSON payload of every webhook: the operation type (create, update, or delete) and the source endpoint name (e.g., games, covers, etc.).The Problem:
Currently, to differentiate between different entities and operations, I have to set up a unique listener URL for every combination of endpoint and action. Since there are approximately 71 endpoints, multiplying them by the 3 operations (create, update, and delete) would require me to create approximately 213 different listener endpoints. Link Adminer from docs I've created an Adminer plugin for IGDB. It allows displaying data in all the endpoints, it supports search, sort and all the API features. A killer feature is foreign keys - data referencing other tables are linked to display them.

Huniecam Studio should be removed from the list of banned games The Huniepop franchise is notoriously erotic in nature, and while it's clear that a case can be made for Huniepop 1 & 2 remaining banned (Even though I'd argue they don't deserve to be), it's truly ridiculous that Huniecam Studio is banned as it doesn't even contain any nudity. Huniecam Studio was clearly banned simply for being a part of an erotic franchise despite games with actual nudity and themes of human trafficking and extreme violence are happily kept on the platform.

Allow linking to edit game tabs The edit game page has several tabs. The tabs even have their anchors, e.g. https://www.igdb.com/games/thief-ii-the-metal-age/edit#categorization
I would like to link directly to some tab but when I open the URL on a new page, it jumps to a hidden part of the page instead of selecting the correct tab.2 votes -
Show user rating in lists and allow sorting by user rating As it stands, there is not efficient way to see how your played games are divided/sorted other than by IGDB rating, which is less meaningful than a personal rating. I recommend showing a user's rating in auto-generated lists (played, playing, etc.) and allow sorting by user rating. This allows a user to quickly view and reference where certain games stand in their list, especially for those of us which a large number of completed games.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Data Error The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 incorrectly lists the Game Boy Color version of Metal Gear Solid 1 as being part of the collection, when it should list the PS1 version of Metal Gear Solid. Can this be updated?
