Pronoun bio field and chat integration
Following up my comment on https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310210-discover/suggestions/42218083-pronouns-prefix
It would be great if there were a dedicated Bio field in which we could put our pronouns, and a chat feature similar to the functionality provided by https://pronouns.alejo.io/ to display pronouns right alongside names in chat. This could also be used to populate a tag-like display near the streamer's name.
Tags for streamers are a start, but I'd like to be able to consult someone's bio (if they choose to disclose pronouns) so I can refer to them properly when they're not currently streaming and be able to refer to viewers properly.

Very good idea! Have it right up front.

Adding them would hugely support the whole community.

although there is a chrome/firefox extension that allows us to display pronouns next to our names in chat, it's very limited. i would love to see a feature BUILT IN to twitch itself that allows the user to either select preset pronouns or fill in a blank field with their own pronouns.

There is that popular browser extension for like 4 browsers now that add pronoun options:
He/Him
She/Her
They/Them
He/Them
She/Them
He/She
Any
OtherNext to your name, next to your badges - like a 4th badge. It works great, it works across multiple platforms. But literally every single person I've talked to and I always agree, why the heck do we need a browser extension to do something that could just be a part of Twitch??? There are many people who don't like/don't want to/refuse to install browser extensions and that means literally all of those people and so many others can't see the pronouns of their chats as streamers or their fellow chatters as viewers. It straight up shouldn't be something extra. We should have this as a function of the site. It would be incredible.

Yes please, long overdue.
Stop enabling the queerphobic trash. Cis white males are not the only people on this platform. Identity is important for our community, if people have a stick up their *** about pronouns make it easy to turn off for those who don't want it. Make it an opt-in, can't argue with options, because they're right my identity is NOT their business, it's the business of someone who cares to know and truly I don't care if that trash knows my pronouns because they wouldn't respect them anyway. ✌

It’s well overdue at this point, like come on it’s not that hard to copy and paste a code and put in some she/he/they in it. Like come on.

100% behind this. Normalization of this NEEDS to happen and twitch is a huge platform that can help set an example.

This is super important not only for making it easier for everyone to know how to respect someone’s gender identity, but also to help normalize the bigger discussion around knowing people’s pronouns before we refer to them!

Making pronouns native to Twitch is imperative at this point. Virtually everyone uses pronouns, it helps normalize the process of disclosing pronouns instead of just putting that burden onto trans/gender diverse individuals. You could make this an opt-in or opt-out scenario as well for the people who just don't want to add pronouns. Numerous major companies are doing this already: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and now Twitter. Time to do it, Twitch! I know Alejo.io is already willing to work with you to help make it native!

As a nonbinary streamer who constantly has to have the pronoun conversation in my chat and in the chats of other streamers, this would be an immensely useful tool that would take a lot of labor off of me while streaming and viewing.

Pronouns are very very important. We love the extension, but why should we have to use third party items (especially for something that being offered by other social media outlets including twitter)?
Thank you!

While this doesn't affect me on a personal level, I still feel that this would be a good thing to implement.
It's a simple show of respect, and I don't know why so many people fight against it. It's so easy to do yet people expend that much more effort just to not do it.

everyone who says this isn't important or thinks it would be bad is cis. they don't have any right to weigh in on this. us as trans people want this. add it.

they've recently amended the ability to edit ones chat presence and pronouns could easily be integrated into that

Why is everything so complicated. Everyone should respect one another in chat regardless of gender. What will be next, our race? Is this Twitch, or Tinder?

I'd like to point out that this feature would be very useful for those of us who speak languages that are not gender-neutral.
For example, when streaming in Spanish, the line:
"Hello <username>, welcome to my channel!"
Ends up being:
"¡Hola <username>, bienvenida/bienvenido/bienvenides a mi canal!"
Knowing how to address people who choose to use this option (it should be optional, of course) would be helpful.

note that everyone that saying that you shouldn't care. or it's not necessary -is male- because it assumes when you enter chat your a dude.
hey man. hi, my guy. what up dude.
oh ya, chat the other day he was telling me about that....
so ... of course, you don't think anything needs to change. well, the stream I'm in the chat is 80% female so. ladies/ woman. she her. it would be nice if more than a few streamers cared to remember that its not -"he"-my man, my dude, my guy, - for literally everyone on this platform
and dont forget. There are way more languages that give everything a male/female word to even hello- -

"I don't understand that pronouns are not precisely the same thing as gender at all, so I'm going imply that people are basically trying to inject ******(?) tension(?) into a situation. WHY YOU TRYNG 2 TEL ME WATS IN UR PANTZ????"
No, we are trying to tell you how we prefer to be referred to in conversation, often to reduce very unpleasant situations.
