Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

A major part of streaming is the INTERACTION with REAL HUMANS. Are you gonna have AI making comments on behalf of viewers, too? Are you gonna have AI posting emoji in the stream too? Are you gonna have AI redeeming channel perks? No? Then don't have AI do clipping. Let us and our viewers clip fun stuff. Let us interact with REAL HUMANS.
As a major platform where the entirety of it is content creation, this is a slap in the face of every user here.

How many times do end users have to tell companies that we don't want this generative AI garbage before they'll listen?

The technology is not the issue. The issue is that the technology is being used in the interests of rich executives who don’t want to be left behind because FOMO. When used correctly and humanely, AI can be a useful tool. Here, and in countless other fields of entertainment, it exists only to steal and ruin the lives of those who work hard for the money and the fun of it.

AI is vile and wasteful. Not even delusional shareholder dreaming of impossible dividends will benefit from this.

AI is a dying beast that techbros just want to keep telling everyone that everything will be great inside of it, so I have absolutely no shock that twitch is trying to jump in while most normal peoples response has been "this looks like it sucks, actually". I am highly against this AI tool or any AI tools.

DO NOT IMPLEMENT THIS! This does not benefit the users and is an insult to content creators. It would lead to an unprecedented violation of a user's consent and is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Again DO NOT IMPLEMENT THAT GARBAGE. NO ONE WANTS AI ********.

I totally get that AI does have some advantages, but let’s be real…it does not need to be everywhere and it does need to be here.

I am also strongly against this. Even being an affiliate, I would seriously reconsider continuing to use Twitch as my streaming platform if this is implemented. Get rid of this AI garbage, no one wants it.

While I get the idea behind making it easier to clip for streamers, using AI isn't it, chief.
There are so many better ways to improve the viewer and the streamer's experience, and quite a lot of them are sitting, rotting inside the uservoice itself, unanswered. Things like Tree Category viewership consolidation, or things like channel point folders/categories to sort many redeems, better ideas for collaborative content or ideas on how to make ads genuinely unobtrusive and integrated into the livestreaming experience.
But instead, we've gotten the adpocalypse, "Autoplaying Carousels in browsing", features forced behind "Stream Together" interrupting content, "AI Content stealing" and "Powerups covering the channel point redeems", and many, many other ideas that do not benefit anyone but the person pitching the ideas (as Twitch wastes tons of their money on features that nobody really needs).
This is the reason why Twitch has been stagnating for years. You have had many opportunities to rectify this course... this is one of them. You'll waste tons of energy on this, you'll waste tons of money on this, you've already wasted tons of community goodwill on this, and if it is fully implemented, you'll lose even more of it in the future.
This is one of the final chances to correct that course. Any further, and this platform might as well be gone... And given the current state of YouTube Live (as Kick isn't a valid option), this is gonna be a terrifying time for livestreamers.

To the people who came up with this morally inadequate idea: You’re a disappointment to your users, friends, and family. Reflect on your decisions, and don’t make anymore. You’re not wanted here.

This AI feature is not something that creators or users on twitch want. Implementing this would create an environment that is actively hostile for any creative people on the platform.

I'm on twitch to share human creativity with other creators. AI has no place in creativity. If you implement AI, I will remove all of my paid subs.
