Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool

Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.

I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.

Facts about AI usage

  • Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.

To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.

  • Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.

    • AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.

It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.

Turning it off as an option is not enough.

    AI has no place for a streaming service like Twitch. Please don't add this feature, it'll hurt the streamers, the viewers & pretty much the website. You're hurting yourself if you go on with this. We're not asking you, Twitch, we're telling you. Do not use AI on any upcoming future projects ever again!

    Twitch wanting to implement AI shows how much of a fascist platform Twitch is. First it's have emotes of the face of a racist misogynistic homophobe as a common emote, now this. They cater to the lowest of low.

    I don't think I really need to add anything, since everyone else has, collectively, told Twitch exactly where they can shove their AI trash. But, I hope people AT TWITCH are reading these, because... Like, especially after everything that happened at TwitchCon, you might wanna NOT do anymore stupid **** for a while. Because at this point, you're practically begging for ALL the lawsuits to hit you. And they will...

    Any implementation of these so-called AI features will not improve the platform and will, in fact, drive a large number of users and streamers away, as indicated by this very post. Setting aside the ethics of and environmental damage resulting from using this technology (which should be enough to dissuade anyone from using it), this would only serve to hurt Twitch’s business.

    I'm not a fan of the AI auto clip feature, nor the AI art being used in the website. I want a HUMAN based platform, not a hollow one. There's nothing more heartless than an empty chatroom with a robot that's recording you.
