Do not impliment the AI auto clip tool
Twitch has implemented a sign up for an AI alpha auto clip tool. This is very unethical in many ways to not just content creation but also to things outside content creation.
I ask twitch to remove this sign up and not engage in any use of AI when it comes to content creation.
Facts about AI usage
- Google’s single Iowa data center alone consumed 1 billion gallons of water in 2024. The first way AI uses water is for cooling. Data centers run thousands of powerful computers around the clock. As these machines crunch numbers and manage data, they generate a lot of heat.
To keep everything running smoothly, water is often used in cooling systems. This can mean circulating water through pipes to absorb heat or using evaporative cooling towers that release warm air.
Ai is trained to use already created content for training with out user consent. This has already been happening on social media. Twitch's AI clip tool ''claims'' they will not use user generated clips with out consent for training to assume what constitutes as high engagement moments for clip creation.
- AI data centers now generate 2.5–3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, officially surpassing the aviation industry’s 2% contribution while growing 15% annually.
It is very important that people speak up and say no to the AI clip tool especially partners and ambassadors as this tool is very harmful to the community.
Turning it off as an option is not enough.

If these tools were any good, why do you have to keep forcing them on us, twitch?
We can all see that the AI bubble is getting close to bursting, so why not save us the headache and save yourself the money by just *not doing this?*

Enough with this AI garbage. This can lead to more harm than people realize and allowing it to have a free pass to ***** with creators and no form of recourse will drive people away from this hellscape. More than they already are.

I do not consent to your use of AI to scrape my voice. I do not consent to AI clipping. I do not consent to any use of AI with anything I do in regards to streaming.
We do not want AI. We have told you repeatedly that we do not want AI.
Twitch, you need to actually listen to ALL of your community, not just the loud cryptobros that you seemingly want to listen to most.
No AI. Do not use AI. We hate AI.

You have tens of thousands of creatives on your platform constantly telling you not to use AI because of a multitude of reasons, and you keep doing it.

This is a terrible idea, surely seeing the extremely negative reactions to other ways twitch has tried to implement AI would tell you that the userbase is not interested in AI being used on this platform in any way. It's unethical and unsustainable to use for so many reasons, and adds nothing of value to the user experience, as a viewer or streamer. Implementing AI clipping, or any more AI features for that matter, is only going to drive people off the platform, especially artists and creatives which make up a BIG proportion of the twitch community. AI is not an easy solution to your problems! It's not a neat feature! The people that genuinely care about twitch and making it a good place to be DO NOT WANT IT!

Just stop. Stop trying to ram unethical features down our throats that WE DO NOT WANT. It doesn't matter what your shareholders are asking for, it doesn't matter what your bogus market research is telling you. Your ai garbage uses a disgusting amount of resources and the results, even if perfect (they won't be) wouldn't come close to being worth the cost. The ai bubble will burst and the world will move on. Stop this.

Oh absolutely not, I’d so much rather this not get implemented at all but it BETTER not be enabled by default, or start running ANYTHING of mine through an AI without explicit opt-in permission. Burying the permission inside the TOS would be scummy and underhanded. Trust in the platform is already crumbling and this would be the last nail in the coffin for MANY of the artists and similar creatives I know.

I use the no ai hashtag for a reason. Not only do I refuse to use it in my art, I have left platforms that have encorporated it in their services.

Twitch, we have been very vocal in the past about how little we want AI content on the platform, especially in front of art streamers. Why would you think AI tools would be any more welcome?
