watch streak
Allow streamer to cancel a stream towards a watch streak, since sometimes streams crash on open and it cancels the watch streak. I have someone who had a 15-streak and now back to 1 because I had a malfunctioning stream last night.

Twitch needs to either completely REMOVE Stream watch streaks or extend it's validity for at least one week...
Twitch, You are literally losing users on your platform and streamers are losing viewers because of this ridiculous system...
If someone has a "120+ watch streak" and lose it, They NEVER tune back into that streamer. You're demoralizing streamers and viewers; all users on your platform.

Twitch should just remove this ****** addition altogether. It just coerces people into watching and is simply evil. Any excuses are bullsh1t.

I’ve been watching every single stream this one guy did. I was on 28 or so. I watched 4 hours tonight, and then as soon as it ends, it tells me my watch streak has ended. Then it gives me the notification saying “you got 24 hours to fix it.” I watch a vod for an hour, doesn’t work. Then I go and click on the notification to be told “the time limit has been exceeded.” How tf I exceed a 24 hour time limit in less than 5 hours?? Make it make sense. The math is not mathing. If you’re gonna implement a new feature and have it in use for months, make it work right. Twitch is a multimillion dollar company with a massive team. There’s no excuse for errors to persist this long.

I just lost a 38-day streak and had to start from 1 again, simply because the stream crashed.
There should be a system to detect when a stream crashes and, if the streamer resumes within a short timeframe (like 15–20 minutes), it should count as a continuous streak for viewers.
Why this matters:
Viewers who are loyal and return after a crash shouldn’t be penalized.
It’s frustrating to lose progress due to something outside the viewer’s or streamer’s control.
Even if this means some users could technically get a +2 bonus if they jump between a crashed stream and the restart, that’s a fair tradeoff for protecting streaks and engagement.

I, on the other hand, had a streak of 116, despite having watched more than 1 hour of live broadcast, the next day I realized that it had been reset and I went back to 1.
