overlays made easy
The dashboard when Live, should have a transitions option to switch the screen from your live gameplay, to a simple be right back page or a stream starting soon page .twitch already has a section where when you go offline it will pop up on the viewers page .why not add this feature right to the dashboard ,I use the dashboard feature on my laptop to keep up with my chats it would be the easiest transition there. Keep in mind I stream on console and lack the OBS features that are offered with streaming on pc.

It's funny how during the Twitch Patch Notes stream, they emphasize using this feature to communicate, yet they do nothing about a highly upvoted idea/suggestion that would improve the user interface for Twitch console streamers.

I would have liked to know more about how to put overlays on console and how to view and interact with chat. Also I believe that console streamers should be promoted to people that are watching on console!
Thanks -

If you could get overlays for people that stream straight through there xbox or ps4 that would be amazing. My twitch is going great right now, so i dont personally want this but i know hundreds of people that do.

Hi, I would like to say something. My twitch name is Madman206,since I don't feel comfortable with saying my real name, and I stream on console I feel like there should be more tips, instructional videos, ect for console streamers. I'm lucky that I'm good with technology but I worry that some people might not be the same I hope you can do something to help.

I'd really love to be able to add more to my stream even if I'm not streaming on a pc, like: being able to see emotes, add overlays, sound effects, a viewer count or even show me who's just entered the stream. it'd be really cool to be able to personalized all of this features either in the twitch app on our consoles or on the computer, either way would work just fine.

Hello, firstly I would like to take a minute to thank you for what you're doing here. The ease of use in getting started is very much appreciated. I'm still super new to streaming and still learning so I very well could just be overlooking something obvious here but I would really like an easier way to be notified of new followers when I'm streaming from console. As it is I don't realize that someone new has followed me until my stream summary after the fact and I really don't want them to feel ignored or underappreciated. I'm learning about nightbot right now so hopefully I can work something out with that. It would also be cool to be able to see your overlays and whatnot on the screen without having to use a capture card, most console gamers just play on our TV and it would be cool if it showed what our actual channel looked like. Anyways, that's just me bouncing around ideas as a new console streamer without much knowledge on the ins and outs yet. Once again, thank you for all your hard work and dedication on making this so easy, inclusive, and intuitive for newcomers.

I stream from my xbox, and i 'manage' it from my phone or computer. I was just wondering if we could get a way to make overlays not glitch as much with that?

I'm a stay at home dad, I stream a lot for having a crazy life. I can't afford a pc and i want overlays for console only streamers. I'm growing just fine but I would love to make my stream look good without having to buy a pc.

The closest I've been to adding an overlay for everyone to see is through the extension, Overlay Expert. However, it only shows on desktop or browser. Would love to see more help for us console streamers.

There really needs to be more support for beginner console streamers, more extensions and things like that

the comparison between Console & PC Streams are very stark, overlays & other onscreen pop ups are totally non existent via console it would be amazing if this was something we could configure on twitch dashboard, prior to broadcasting gameplay.

maybe i don't know about it, but i stream directly off of my console as it is right now. I wish there was a way to have my overlay on top of my console stream or at least be able to add it on my twitch channel in real time. would just be cool to see some intergration between platforms, as not all of us are pc streamers :(

As I have seen already there are feature requests for overlays on PS4, but why not make that Universal, and while that's happening why not find an overlay software that works for Chromebook, and maybe an internal stream encoder.

It would be great if there was a way in which consoles could have better overlays to stay more interesting. Obviously there is the overlay expert extension but the quality is not the greatest. Would be nice to not feel disadvantaged and would really help make streams more interactive.
