Stop Running Transphobic Ads On Trans People's Channels
I'm a trans person, and I keep getting ads on MY channel promoting giving money to someone who despises my existance. Someone using her vast amount of wealth, influence, and power to make us trans people feel unsafe just being alive, and insulting/lying about us online to stir the pot and create a toxic and violent environment for us to exist. I do not want these ads being shown to MY audience that was built on MY content. This platform promotes wanting diversity and inclusion, yet we keep getting ads like this shown on our accounts without our consent. Give us the freedom to chose what ads can play on our accounts to prevent this type of thing from happening. Thanks.

Maybe stop running transphobic ads, period, but yeah, that too.

I've also started seeing ads for the movie for her lesser US Counterpart (Scott Cawthon -- Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (the movie) -- man is a trump/republican supporter) and I too would like to see not only just not running the transphobe's ads ever, but better ad control in general for users.

This is how I found out there's a real chance my stream could have been advertising the IP of someone who despises my friends' existence.
This makes me sick.

Actually, come to think of it..
Why would Rowling's team want their ads on streamers channels where they outright tell you not to purchase their stuff? It's equally insane from the advertisers and channels views.

People who spend time creating things online are always being judged for "advertiser-friendliness", but what happens when the advertisers are the ones who are hostile? Fix the double-standard. If you aren't gonna protect trans creators, you don't deserve them. Either kick the bad advertisers off or let us kick them off, at minimum.

This. As a company making a fair bit of it's money through ads, you understand that companies do not want their products to be associated with certain things.
The inverse is also true. -

Streamers should be able to ban specific ads and keywords from their ads. Platforms insist that advertisers should be coddled because they pay a good share of the money, but without streamers and viewers, why would advertisers pay Twitch? This platform is built on streamers labor and viewers consumption, and it should be safe for the laborers and consumers as well, not just the financiers.

If Twitch is gonna host pride events each june, they better not be promoting transphbia on their platform. It's callous to target trans people for money

As a platform Twitch should be a safe and welcoming space for all people and free from the exposure of hate and other content

I am not Trans, but I agree wholeheartedly. We need to have some control over the ads our channel runs at the very least.

Voting. Why should our time to interact and enjoy each other's company be constantly overshadowed by the bigots that hate us?

If advertisers are allowed to approve the type of streamers their adverts are connected to, streamers should be allowed to approve the types of advertisers who can appear on their stream

I've always been upset by the fact that twitch does not let creators have any say in the ads that get run on our channels.
I have topics/products I don't want advertised to my users for all sorts of reasons, for instance I don't want ads about alcohol or medications on my streams... because I have users who have alcohol or medication addictions. I also don't want anti-science ads run, as I'm a scientist IRL. I don't want ads that are anti-psychology because I'm a pyschologist. And I don't want ads for AAA publishers because I don't support their products.
Will this tank my add revenue? Probably, but if twitch will replace my 12c/month of ad revenue (if that) with ads I specifically approve for my community (or at least are in categories I can chose from for my community) I'm all for it.
Please Twitch, actually listen to your creators on this. I doubt it'll happen, but it would make me feel so much better if you did.

Voted in support. I myself am just a cis dude, but I'm not gonna let a company profit off bigotry toward friends and peers.

Voted in support. Genderqueer myself, and I also hate the idea of Twitch subjecting viewers to advertisements that are antithetical to the creators and/or content they are watching. Affiliates generally agree to Twitch's required ads, but it really should not be so difficult to have advertisements, and advertisers, tagged and/or categorized to better match the channels they run on.

Everyone should be able to select which ads they run, and you shouldn't be supporting such vile things to begin with, Twitch! Do better!

I concur. It's frankly disgusting that we have no means of preventing certain ads (not ALL ads, mind, i get that ads are unavoidable) from appearing on our streams. Come on, twitch, at least let us blacklist certain categories of ad, even if it's just a limited set of categories and a limited number thereof, it'd be better than doing nothing

While I understand that Audible is Amazon owned, running ads specifically for Harry Potter content when the IP owner is using royalties to fund cases for violent discrimination against a large portion of Twitch's userbase, it's just not acceptable. It's bad enough that streamers have no control over what kind of advertising is shown on their channel, but asking streamers to be cool with attacks on their communities for the sake of the all dollar is a horrific thing to be doing.
Remove the ads.
