Streamers/Creators should be able to opt-out of military recruitment ads
Streamers should have the ability to opt-out of certain ads, particularly military recruitment ads. Some creators may have a younger audience. The streamer should reserve the right to protect that audience. The military ad complex is already vast and has deep roots within Twitch. If a streamer does not want that sort of content on their channel, they should be able to block it. Additionally, this option should be able to be seen publicly. Parents who check their children’s activity might want to be able to know a streamer opts out of Military recruitment ads targeted at minors.
yes please do this twitch
Please twitch give is option to completely opt out of military ads and also other ads.
Why do they always send the poor?
I would like to opt out of military advertisement and weapon manufacturing ads please
Agreed, you could advertise *anything* else on mine if needed.
No military ads!
A cutoff button would be nice, even if it resets the ad timer, as long as it played other categories
I like this idea, I would like it even more if they didn't advertise the military to kids at all, rather than they make a way would for each channel to manually request that this terrible practice doesn't happen on their individual channel.
I didn't even realize Twitch might be showing military recruitment ads on my streams. I'd like that to stop immediately—and why hasn't Twitch said anything about this two-year-old idea?
On Patch Notes they beg us to come use UserVoice, but what's the point if Twitch ignores things like this?
Twitch already has rules and regulations against overly sexual and violent content. Even going so far as to ban partnered streamers for slip ups while livestreaming. Why do we allow the overt violence of war to be advertised to young children?
As an Airborne Veteran I understand some of the true costs of service, and it is not at all like the video games military advertisements pretend they are.
Military recruitment is no better than predatory gambling advertisement. Streamers should, at the least, be able to opt-out of these ads.
It’s imperative to allow an opt out of Military recruitment ads targeted at minors.
As a PG streamer with a younger audience, I would like to be able to not only opt out of certain ads, but be able to preview what kind of content is going to be shown during a stream.
If i am to endorse and say hey support this company that shows it's ad on my stream you should really consider that i am actually in support of what you put on the ads or allow me to choose a ad that i will happily support or the outcome is me and my chatters having a discussion of how we will never buy the product and or support the company and or ideals being expressed by the ad you play. This is my personal feedback on this for all your ads. Including but not limited to Military recruitment ads towards minors which is wrong.
100%. We should be able to choose to advertise for things we either support, or, at the very least, things that don't make us make unethical choices.
This is absolutely something streamers should have a choice in!
Totally agree. Streamers need control over their whole message, which includes the ads.
Let's go! We don't need the military grooming our next generations.
+1 for real.
I absolutely support this idea. The military's recruitment tactics outside of the internet are already manipulative and dishonest, and I would hate to know that just by watching my stream, someone would potentially be convinced to join the service because of an ad that played.
