Less ads on vods, please
I have no problem with ads usually and I understand why they're there, but it seems that a new feature rolled out that makes it so that an ad plays every 20 minutes when you're watching a vod.
I find this really annoying, as the ads are usually about 100% more loud than the vod so every 20 minutes I need to stop whatever I'm doing and turn down the volume on my computer (since I can't change the volume of the ad, which is not great either btw) and wait for the ad to finish so I can turn the volume back up.
Even if tedious, I'd be ok with this if it happened like every hour or so instead of 20 minutes. So... pretty please?

How about generating revenue from ads on VODs, why does twitch make all the money from VODs? I made the content?

Use volume normalization features on your device or through third-party applications to maintain a consistent volume level between the VOD content and ads. https://soccerskillsworldcup.com

@FieryAshes Streamers do get a small percentage of the ad revenue, but it`s really not much

I think this is worth talking about so reviving this thread:
I would love it if the ads on vods were the Stream Display Ads and just there under the content. I think those ads should be the only ones during vods, but if they were I'd be okay with them being there even more often.
I think that at least a small percentage of the ad revenue should still come to us, I think it's pretty not okay if what people say is true that we don't get any ad revenue at all from it.
If any Twitch employee sees this, I truly think if you find a way to balance display ads instead of interruptive ones and you gave streamers a cut of the ad revenue - even if they were very frequent - streamers and viewers alike would be much happier.

My main issue about having ads on VODs is the fact that the streamers do not receive a cut of the ad revenue. This is extremely scummy and I am suprised I don't see more people calling them out for this. Twitch should either remove the ads from VODs completely or start paying the streamers a share of the ad revenue.

Some channels are running at night, so when I want to watch it the next day, I get bombed with ads - though I 'would' watch it live, if I could. At least start ramping up at older videos.

I guess twitch really needs money, these ads when watching vods are literally insanely heavy. This isn't exaggerating every 10 minutes i have 3-5 ads each ranging from 15-20 seconds. The worst part is if i am having poor connection, i have to wait for the ad to buffer and it extends the 15-20 seconds to 40-60 seconds per ad which is absolutely insane. Please re-structure your ads for non-live videos. Maybe ill enjoy my experience more and actually pay you guys monthly to not have ads. THANKS.

Can't watch the actual livestreams anymore due to ads? I've had Valorant 1v4's and Warzone 50 kill games ruined by ads playing at the climax of the game, so i've given up on watching livestreams and now only watch Vods because i don't get ads during them. great fix if you just want to watch and don't mind missing out on chat.

There’s an ad every 10min during a VOD and the best part is that on some platforms the VOD starts from the beginning after the ad so you can’t even continue to watch the VOD Absolutely horrendous

Interesting how after 2 years they still haven't addressed the ad volume issue, it's a really easy algorithm of taking the average volume of a vod and adjusting the ad volumes appropriately. Ads also still appear in random places in vods, ruining the experience. Ads are coming up like once every 10 minutes at least now. Absolutely terrible, they are abusing their oligopoly on the streaming market.

I completely understand that there are adds on VODs. The problem is that when the stream places adds for X minutes the VOD player starts to play adds too at that time in the VOD. Well this means that one can't skip ahead in the content but i rather have to watch those adds or not watch the VOD ever again as it starts the VOD on the same place i closed it last time and the adds start over again.
