1. Regression: Can no longer easily view followed categories

   I just got the new version of the mobile app deployed to my Pixel 5A, and while it is kind of neat and fixes a bunch of long standing bugs, there is a feature I used quite often that is no longer present - I can no longer go to a list of categories I follow. I have to go to the mobile website for that, and I can't chat from the mobile website.

2. 19.7.0 home view on Android behaves counterintuitively, does not respect existing video settings

   The new Android application home screen has several issues which I group into two categories: ignoring previously-set application settings, and counterintuitive behavior.

   When a stream comes up on the new home screen it unconditionally begins automatically playing immediately. This occurs regardless of how one arrived at this screen, and it occurs regardless of how the "Video autoplaying" account setting is set. Moreover, it attempts to load with automatic resolution setting irrespective of what one's stream resolution is set to. My mobile data connection typically causes stuttering video when resolution is set to automatic, so I set it to one specific fixed resolution that I know it will support. The effect of this new page's behavior is a stream which loads slowly, does not play consistently, and typically is not the stream I opened the application to watch anyway. Respecting these application settings would largely resolve this issue. There is no circumstance in which it is acceptable to unconditionally play audio or video on a mobile device.

   The second major category of issues is the counterintuitive behavior that this update introduced. Here are some specific examples:

   • Tapping the downward-pointing chevron on the upper left of a stream closes the stream and begins playing an unrelated stream. A downward-pointing chevron is an icon which indicates it will shrink or minimize something, not close it entirely and certainly not begin playing something entirely new, making the new behavior counterintuitive.

   • Pulling down on a stream closes the stream and begins playing an unrelated stream. Intuitive responses to this gesture include shrinking the stream to a picture-in-picture view, shrinking the stream and moving it to the bottom of the screen, or closing the stream and playing nothing. A vertical pull, being a dismissive gesture in the context of this application's layout, intuitively should not begin playing something new because it is not an expected result of such a gesture.

   • There is no way to peruse the list of followed streams, the "Browse" view. or twitch notifications without closing the active stream and playing an unrelated stream instead. Swiping from the left side after loading a stream from the list of followed stream does nothing.

   • The followed stream list is now accessed in a very different way from the "Browse" view.

   Personally, my preferred behavior for the mobile apps and even the main web site would be to show me my list of followed streams and nothing else. This list is now more difficult for me to use because it loads more slowly as the unconditionally-loading video I didn't ask for in the home view bogs down my mobile internet connection down, and I now can't make that stop because that list now appears in a popover instead of its own view.

6. Get rid of the 4 buttons on the landscape mode.

   It’s a ridiculous idea. I will sub or bits or emote when I WANT to and I will go and do it. I don’t need a shortcut constantly on my screen. It looks awful. Please let me get rid of it. It makes me want to use the app significantly less.

8. Change is not always needed!

   This latest Ui update for the homepage is nothing short of inexcusable!

   It provides nothing new at all, if anything you’ve gone completely backwards with it.

   Gone is the Continue Watching section, something that worked well and most people used… Well done

   You can no longer have what you’re watching on in the background whilst on the homepage.. Great!

   Once you’ve cycled through the ugly looking dull homepage, you’ll then realise your phone battery is now down radically from doing so..

   Also removing for some reason the return to top of the page option on the homepage, Why? Every single other app has this but you’ve gone backwards and removed it.

   The video Suggestion’s menu now gone, again something that worked well before.

   If you open the followers side tab on the homepage, whatever you’re watching will stop playing. Another genius idea!

   The search menu now works just as if not better than the homepage so what was the point of “updating” the homepage?

   There was nothing wrong the way it was before, nothing needed changing imo and a lot of other peoples opinion.

   I never thought i would see or use a more worse Ui than kicks current one, but congratulations twitch you have succeed in doing just that 👏🏻

   After the ridiculous update my twitch has been acting up sometimes the sound doesn’t work, and the app keeps changing the streams I’m watching out of no where

10. Revert new mobile update . It is garbage and wants me to cancel all my subs and never use the app or website again.

    Revert the update . I’m going to cancel all my subs this app is unusable now . Way to go twitch really screwed up big time with this update

11. Switches to another stream randomly while watching an active stream

    I was watching a stream (where I’m not subscribed) and the iOS app suddenly switched to a stream (that I was subscribed to) on its own without me pressing any buttons. The original stream in question was not doing a raid and it was still active when I switched back. If this is a built-in feature instead of a bug, please disable it immediately

12. Channel surfing 🏄

    People who regularly use this mobile app often already have their favourite streamers who are on at (mostly) scheduled times. Forcing users to swipe through channels as soon as they open the app doesn’t make sense:

    Bring back the original layout of for followed channels front and centre & make this new scrollable feed that was recently added its own thing.
    An optional section to the left or right of the mobile app - & call that the “channel surf” or something.

    This way we can have our familiar (and efficient) follow feed back and a new feature to find something new or familiar to watch.

16. If you activate Non-Mod Chat Delay and you look on mobile Chat you still see <Deleted Message>

    If you activate Non-Mod Chat Delay and look on mobile Chat you still see <Message Deleted> but in the option it says Any message that is timed out or banned during the delay is removed from chat COMPLETELY. Please fix that

    Tag filtering/search doesn’t seem to be working on latest IOS version.

    Also a suggestion: allow an “or” operator with tags. I often want to search stream for multiple languages. Currently if I put in both, it will only show channels that have both tags where I want channels with either one

19. Clips Feed Content Filter

    Twitch Mobile Clips Feed Is Flooded With Inappropriate, Irrelevant Content

    I'm beyond frustrated with the state of Twitch's mobile Clips feed.

    Every time I try to browse clips, I'm bombarded with women in bikinis, sexually suggestive content, and an overwhelming number of clips in languages I don't even speak. I'm trying to discover entertaining gaming content and actual creators, not scroll through what feels like a poorly moderated thirst-trap feed.

    Where are the meaningful content filters? Why can't I restrict recommendations to English-language clips, exclude sexually suggestive content, or prioritize gaming categories I'm actually interested in?

    The recommendation system feels completely disconnected from my viewing preferences. It's especially ridiculous that a platform built around gaming and creator discovery makes it this difficult to find relevant content.

    As a Twitch creator myself, it's infuriating to see this type of content dominate discovery while legitimate creators struggle for visibility.

    I want Twitch to implement:

    1. A persistent English-only language filter for the Clips feed.
    2. An effective option to exclude sexually suggestive content entirely. Like Swimming Pool streams are you serious?
    3. Filters for specific gaming categories and content types.
    4. A way to reset or meaningfully customize recommendations.
    5. Greater transparency about why particular clips are being recommended.

    I'm tired of being forced to scroll past content I never asked to see. Users shouldn't have to fight an algorithm just to find clips relevant to their interests.

    Fix the filtering system. Give users actual control over their feeds. Twitch's current mobile discovery experience is unacceptable.

20. get rid of the persistent overlay

    when in full screen i'm forced to look at chat overlay options i don't care about, they take up the screen and are distracting. get rid of them or allow them to be turned off
