How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. Many users do not stream in categories that exist for games, instead choosing to stream in the "Retro" category, making following the category for that game pointless. This only serves to make it more difficult to find streams for a lot of games, and Retro would be much better off used as a tag instead. Pokemon has a similar issue, with many choosing to stream in the category for the latest game instead of the game they're actually playing.

  2. There are two categories named "New World" so people are accidentally putting themselves in the wrong category, and all past broadcasts from the game that everyone is actually streaming, even if they're under the correct category, is being saved to the new category of "New World 1982" rather than New World.

  3. This was also suggested back in 2020 but clearly no twitch employees have cared to even check it… Let us hide specific tags already, I absolutely do not enjoy watching vtubers at all and I’m so annoyed when 70% of what I see are just vtubers. I truly despise it when people use fake voices and an anime avatar, please let us block tags!

  4. The landscape of streams on Twitch is dominated by a small number of large channels, leaving little visibility for smaller ones. Removing the display of the number of viewers during stream searches would encourage the discovery of more diverse content and support smaller channels.

For streamers, retaining the number of viewers during a raid through the designated menu would allow them to promote other channels, thus fostering community growth.

Introducing a TAG for special events or charity livestreams would maintain visibility of the number of viewers, promoting these initiatives and encouraging community generosity.

With the exception of specific cases like…

  5. There are two identical categories for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, just with different tags.

People most likely stream in the category with more viewers, but which one of the two that is switches sometimes. It's very confusing and there is no reason to have two seperate categories for the same game anyway.

  6. New Section Suggestion: "Discovery Clips"

Add a new section on Twitch "Discovery Clips"

Explore clips from rising streamers and creators. From epic gaming plays to hilarious moments of improvised comedy, this section gives you the chance to discover new talents before they go viral. Get ready to be part of the journey as these emerging creators make their way to the top.

    New section: https://twitch.tv/discovery/clips

  8. It is currently not easy to navigate through so many pages/streams when using Sort by either High to Low or Low to HIgh. in [ all directory ] , or within a category or within a tag.

I've recently found myself enjoying smaller channels as it is easier to connect with everbody in there

It would be nice to have an option to sort by high to low but with a set amount of viewers. Example High to Low, below 100 viewers [ The set amount of viewers should be within a blank box we should be allowed to type…

  9. A problem I have noticed is that any weather-related streams fall into either the IRL, Travel & Outdoors or Science & Technology categories, which affects the discoverability of those types of streams.

With the impacts that weather can have on people, this change would make Twitch another way for people to know that a dangerous storm is approaching. This would be very beneficial to both the streamers and the people watching them by having increased discoverability.

  10. Zapping Mode, a way in which you can search for channels much faster that is almost instantaneous than what was done in the past. That you can watch any type of channels and you can discover a new channel that is doing something interesting. The interface is a normal channel but you have the option to zap and change to the next one, and you also have the option to enter the channel and continue watching it if not after 1 minute it changes to the next one or the channel you are watching is automatically put on (it is…

  11. I'm logged out, on my work computer on a fresh browser. Why do I get people with little, tight clothing shaking their *** on my recommended?

I want to be able to open the website at my work computer without seeing inappropriate channels on my screen. Even without a thumbnail, mistakenly clicking one of the recommended channels will potentially end careers.

  12. Hi dear twitch,
I'm a product designer and really my job is not supposed to be in "Game & Software Development " or "Art" category it's a different thing and have its own audience!

People doing things in Figma,Photoshop,Illustrator,Framer,Webflow,Spline,Sketch, AdobeXD those cannot be streamed in any available category right now!

  13. Can someone please add this category. Perhaps there isn't a huge demand for educational content but if someone wanted to stream something educational, there's really no category for it. I think having a category like "Educational" is enough to house everyone that has a passion to teach something. Right now, all we have is a tag "educational", which is useful but not a housing feature. I think I remember reading a lot of people upvoting for this category and it resolving into a tag, which seems kind of strange. What if you're trying to stream a math lesson? Sure, I…

  14. Hi friends! Is there a way to differentiate two games called "Copycat" and "CopyCat" in categories? One is coming in 2024, other is listed as 2019 but unreleased, yet both links take me to the page of an unreleased "CopyCat" game instead of the new one.

  15. Minesweeper is a barely streamed game, yet there are 71 categories of Minesweeper and Minesweeper variants. Merging those into 2 would make it easier for people to find, follow, and popularize this pretty much singular game.

  16. Currently I'm not able to search streamers on a very specific subject (eg: using the tag "elixir" in software & development).

I'd like to subscribe to offline streamers that cover this topic so I get notified when they get online, but I simply can't. I must be lucky and be connected at the right time (meaning when they're online) to find out who's covering this topic.

In term of discovery, the user experience is close to 0 at the moment... It seems pretty obvious though. How can I connect with people on a specific subject if I can't find them…

  18. There should be an option to select a channel that we do not want to see in the future, with the help of an additional option that would say "I do not want to know about the channel in the future" or "do not recommend this channel", and thus it would be possible to completely customize who and what channel you want to watch.
