Add "are you sure" for the Moderator's Clear Chat link Add an "are you sure" pop-up acknowledgement for the Moderator's Clear Chat link in the Chat Settings, to cover inadvertent selection of the link. I have on occasion hit the "Clear Chat" link when I was aiming for "Manage Moderation Settings" or "Switch to Non-Mod Settings", which annoys everyone in chat and the Streamer as well.

Alias Twitch Chat Commands Twitch command aliasing would be a neat addition. Similar to aliasing in .bashrc on Linux.
The ability to set your own aliases for ingrained twitch commands. That way mods dont have to try to remember them, since apparently that is difficult for some.
In this example, it is aliasing the /marker command with /m. In the end both options would work (or as many options as people make).
On Linux it looks like this.
alias '/m'='/marker'On twitch, could be like this.
/alias [new command] [twitch command]
/alias /m /markerScenario:
If a user did
/alias /m /marker
/alias /mark…2 votes -
Channel-level Chat Choice Awards Expand the chat choice awards by platformizing it as something that can be done at the channel level with channel-specific categories and awards as well (could generate a ton of engagement). It would be a ton of fun for smaller and mid-sized channels to have things like favorite game of the past year and exciting games for the coming year (using a list of games that the channel sets). Other channel-specific awards - best moments (great for incentivizing users to tag highlights throughout the year and for surfacing them later), favorite channel moderator, best community member, fail of the year,…

Organization, More Interaction by Streamers and Users through this improvement Implement some kind of keyword tagging system similar to a # that will sort chat bubbles that have either a user generated tag or that Twitch can determine to be relevant to certain situations that occur within a live chat. Picture a College Note style organization but tailored to twitch conversations with the idea above. This will help Twitch Streamers to not have to repeat themselves and also keep them organized and enable them the ability to see trends within their chat , and helps the end user find relevant ways to interact with the audience they are a part…

Changeable chat background colour. It would be nice to be able to change the background colour to something more customisable but also so streamers who have difficulty reading chat with only white or black background. It takes those people longer to read and react to chat.

chat call button By clicking on the chat user’s nickname, a menu appears where you can contact the user, and his nickname will be copied to your chat message. A more convenient way to access than using the @ symbol and spelling a nickname.

Could you implement a way to highlight a certain word or another users chat? Suggestion:
Add a way for a user to highlight specific words or users in chat.Reason:
I find myself trying to read certain users comments/topics, but they often get lost in the general chat stream. This often happens when the channel has a moderator running the chat portion of the stream while the person on camera is talking. The ability to highlight a user or a certain word would help locate them in a busy chat situation. Thanks

Customisable Chat Window as Overlay The stream viewing options on desktop include "fullscreen" (no chat displayed) and "theater mode" (chat occupies about 1/3rd of the screen, on the right). Given that the vast majority of streams are in widescreen format, dedicating a large vertical column to chat results in the gameplay "window" occupying less than 1/2 the screen, with huge "letterboxing".
It would be a huge improvement to allow the viewer's chat display to overlap onto the video feed, via a window that can resized, repositioned and whose background can be made transparent. It would serve as an "interactive fullscreen" mode, where viewers can be…7 votes -
Add a clap feature! It would be cool if Twitch had a clap feature. For instance, beneath chat and next to channel points, there could be some button that could be spammed that would contribute to a clap meter. As more viewers click the button, the greater the meter shines (maybe from green to red, with red indicating high activity). I think this would be an additional way for viewers to express their hype.

Old/new badges There are a ton of really cool global badges that are no longer obtainable due to Twitch no longer selling games on the site. Seems a shame that these icons were created by some talented staff but nearly no one has them.
It would be neat to see them put out to the public again in some fashion.Emotes are a huge draw for limited time events. People LOVE getting new emotes and showing them off. But the emote list is getting a little chonky. Maybe in the future we could have limited time events but earn new badges as…

When tagging someone on chat, the content of the message should determine the order of names listed. For example when the words "ban" "unban" or "moderator" are mentioned, more than likely the user is trying to reach out to the Moderators of the channel.
In a similar approach, we can also track users of the last X amount of messages sent because the user may also be likely to be replying to a comment. If the content of the previous messages match what the user is typing, then they will likely tag that former person as well.I see that a lot of ideas posted regarding chat are about improving this tagging experience, and what better way…

@mention another user in chat Can you please add a feature to quickly mention a user in chat?
For now the only option is to type out "@" and their nickname which is
1) slow;
2) inconvenient when chatting in another keyboard layout as you need to switch it twice just to mention someone.
It seems like an obvious feature and adding it would improve chatting experience a lot.2 votes -
Indicate the use of a channel restricted word in chatbox (before entering) It is quite annoying to type in chat, and find out that you have used a restricted word in this streamers chat. It would be useful if the the restricted word would show or be marked red instantly(before entering). This makes it possible to rephrase the sentence to allow it being posted in chat.

Chat API Hook Before Distribution Provide an API hook to extension developers which notifies on each received message before it is going to be distributed to the users.
Bots can only delete already delivered chat messages afterwards. Clients can intercept the deletion. Furthermore it is not possible to write own chat commands for now.
With a hook, if a user types '/do something', extension developers were able to prevent the delivery of the message and perform some action instead.
Beyond that I would like to see API calls to send chat notifications to specific users - just like 'your message has not been sent yet.…
