How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  2. Unlike English, Japanese does not leave a space between each word, so even if you try to mute a word, it will not work if a word follows it.
    For example
Mute "兄" (brother): "兄貴" (brother) will not be muted.
Mute "こんにちは"(Hello ): "こんにちは、お元気ですか" (Hello, how are you?) will not be muted.
We would like to be able to mute the text even if it continues.

  3. Currently watcvhing a stream who has accidentally left obs running with an open mic.

A mod tool that would be invaluable here is an "emergency cut stream" feature that knocks the streamer offline / breaks the stream connection that can then only be corrected by the streamer (maybe invalidating the stream, token, or only being reset by a new connection from the streaming software) to save them from being banned for inadvertently broadcasting something against ToS.

  4. Stream team members can opt in to share their ban list with everyone on their team. Have them friend the group and have to group gather all the bans that your other team members already done.

Just like sharing some info with them like statistics.

It would be much easier for the mods to just group ban people in stream teams as well.

A Team of Moderation with a scaling group of slots depending on team members active.

  6. As streamer and moderator we often have unwanted people polluting the chat. It would be nice to be able to cut off a viewer's ability to write in the chat. (Mute/Unmute) on a viewer without banning them. There are a lot of people (autistic, intellectually disabled) who are not bad, but they can tire others in the long run. It would be good to put them on mute but let them stay and enjoy.

  7. When someone is reported for whatever conduct they are reported for Twitch, staff should have a way to see all the accounts chat logs for other streams and handle accordingly. Since Mods have chat logs within streams I would expect something similar that can flag their comments in all streams when banned as their chat logs are still active even when banned and it'll be easier to compile if needed to report to said agencies. I mention this as when I have reported over hundred pedophiles on Twitch trying to groom and exploit kids, you see their comments in a…

  8. Right now if you block a user and you moderate for a channel that said user is in, you will still see their messages. I have certain users blocked for a reason and me seeing them in chats that I moderate drives me away from the streams. The streamer does not want them banned, so that is not a viable option. I understand that as a moderator your job is to keep an eye on users, but other mods can help out regarding these instances.

  9. I think this feature would be more helpful if moderators could also send requests and accept them on behalf of their content creators. As it is now, content creators have to do all of the work and some just want to game and let their mods do it.

  10. Similar to how we now have a list of banned users, could there be a list for streamers that have, either past or present, behaved suspiciously/may be predatory/is a known sex offender/etc?

  11. I am a moderator of a channel of an Italian streamer, I noticed that something is missing in the user history and in the readmission requests due to a ban.
    here's what I propose:

-in requests for readmission, following rejection or approval, the message from the user left during the request and the message after the evaluation of the creator or moderator should be recorded and accessible from the user history (/ user)

  12. I would like to see an option to choose a different default setting on a shared channel basis.
Different channels and communities punish people for different reasons. Especially if you are a long time member or a mod in several communities you most likely know the different criterias each uses. You might not be as strict yourself as one streamer and you might be more strict than another.
Being able to choose the default correctly per shared channel there is a bigger chance to be right from the start with the default setting for your stream instead of changing it…

  13. Presently, when timing out a user in chat, whether it be via a chat command, the value picked is the value set, with no way to increment or decrement it without setting the new value yourself. Instead, could moderators and streamers have the option to use + and - in the timeout commands to adjust timeout lengths?

For example, a moderator times out user123 via chat by doing /timeout user123 600. They later decide to shave two minutes off the timeout, but we are forced to guess what the new number would be. Instead, perhaps we can also have an…

  14. @everyone tag in chat From the moderator rank!

Chatters from moderator rank can make @everyone in chat to share important messages so that everyone sees it and gets tagged.

    very simple and easy.

  15. Would it be possible to create a tool that would allow mods/streamers to obtain KNOWN troublemaking accounts such as the recent string of hate raids and bots and then ban them in bulk as opposed to one at a time?

I moderate for several streamers and I've been trying my hardest to help support the more nervous ones who have been getting follows from suspicious accounts matching the ones I'm sure most of you are aware of. But going through and manually banning one at a time is extremely time consuming, especially considering there are so many of these accounts.

  16. This would make it possible to pre-emptively ban someone with an offensive username.

It also means that when you get a large number of bots with similar usernames turn up, e.g. Troll1, Troll2, Troll3, etc., adding Troll* to the Banned Names list would stop all variations from posting. But also with an option to ban usernames containing certain terms.

  17. Mods can flag a Suspicious user on chat, but the streamer can only see "Username flagged as Suspicious by Badiiin" for example.

it would be way more useful if the streamer could see the reason why I flagged the user. Writen by the moderator himself.

    Example:

"Username flagged as Suspicious by Badiin, reason: Account created just a minute before the follow"

  18. Recently Twitch implemented a feature to mark users in the chat as suspicious or to restrict their use of the chat.

But sadly the restrict option only acts as a complete chat ban, which does not help much. (because if someone does not follow the chat rules in streams im supporting as mod, will get a complete Ban)

My idea is to expand the restrict chat access option, so that suspicious users could be restricted in a way, that their messages will automatically be held back by auto mod for a certain ammount of time (or until a mod releases…

  19. Hello everyone, today I come to propose an idea of a tool that will help when moderating a chat and communicating between the moderators of a chat.
The idea consists of a command that when entering it in the chat, there will be another chat but hidden, similar to how / poll works. To which only the moderators and the streamer will have access, this would be very useful for communication between the moderators and in support of the new tools recently included in the platform, such as the "Suspicious User"
This would allow any questions the moderators have to…

  20. I have been banned for having an opinion, the mod that banned me probably had a bad day and decided to ban me for having an opinion on something. I used to watch this streamer everyday until i expressed my opinion on something that the mod disagrees with and i got permanently banned. also the mods on this channel never do unban requests, nor does the streamer (its a pretty big streamer) so im stuck in this place where im banned and no one does the unban requests.

I just think mods shouldn’t have the power to permanently ban someone…
