Charity

How it works:
  • If you'd like to nominate a charity, please go to the Request a Charity subpage and tell us the charity's (1.) name, (2.) website, and (3.) country. Please use the charity's name in the idea title, as well. We will be reviewing these submissions periodically.
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea to check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Upvoting existing ideas will increase the weight behind the idea, as opposed to multiple similar requests (we will combine these anyway)
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information

If you need help:
This forum is for ideas only. If you need help, please check out our help portal for tons of articles that may answer your questions. If you still need help, you can reach out to our support team in the help portal as well!

Appeals or commentary on suspension decisions, support requests, suggestions disparaging others, and non-constructive feedback will be closed without comment.

  3. Allow streamer the option to donate all channel revenue (subs, cheers, sales) directly to a charity. For maximum transparency the money could go from Twitch directly to the charity, and ideally maybe Twitch would consider taking a lesser percentage so that more of the money gets to the charity?

  4. I'd love to see Safe In Our World as a charity to support natively in Twitch. I've worked with this organisation in the past, and they do some amazing work around mental health. Their goal is to create and foster worldwide mental health awareness within the video game industry; to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health, to make it a natural topic of discussion, and to promote the dialogue surrounding mental health so people are not afraid to reach out for help if they need it.

SpecialEffect transform the lives of people with physical challenges right across the world through the innovative use of technology. At the core of this mission is their work to optimise inclusion, enjoyment and quality of life by helping people control video games to the best of their abilities for as long as they need them.

They don’t charge anything at all for their help. That’s why donations, large or small, really do count. Without charitable support, they wouldn’t be able to help people with physical disabilities to enjoy a better quality of life through their assessments, online resources and…

  7. Help for Heroes is a charity that provides lifelong recovery support to British Armed Forces service personnel who have been wounded or injured in the line of duty and their families.

Right now, they need your support more than ever. Due to the pandemic, our income has fallen and we’ve seen a 50 per cent increase in the number of veterans struggling with their mental health. Every penny you raise makes a real difference to veterans and those still serving, helping them to recover and get on with their lives.

  9. Twitch's current community guidelines focuses behaviors that happen on site but many nonprofits do not stream or engage on Twitch. And becoming a nonprofit within the United States is relatively easy and affordable. FB, Google, and YouTube have stances against nonprofits that are discriminatory in nature or provide access only if the recipient of the program converts to their religion. Allowing nearly any nonprofit to be fundraised for through Twitch's charity product opens a new vector for abuse one that has serious real world implications given that money is involved.

  12. Please add the following UK charity that supports those who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. https://www.mssociety.org.uk/

We are directly affected by it as a community with members who are afflicted by this illness and we promote this Charity as part of our main stream every Monday and would like the means to begin putting charity directly towards it off of our page and the new Charity initiative by twitch would do massive wonders for us as supporters of the charity itself.

  18. Blue Cross are a UK based pet welfare charity that has been helping sick, injured and homeless pets for the last 125 years. From the streets of London, to the frontline of World War One, they've never given up on the idea that every pet should have the chance to live a healthy life in a happy home.

They run four animal hospitals (including one in Victoria, London which is thought to be the first facility of it's kind in the world!), five pet care clinics and eleven rehoming centres. They are there to offer help with veterinary or behaviour…

    Website: https://www.skdeas.org/
    Country: United States

My daughter suffers from this syndrome that was recently cataloged in 2017. Most kids that have this syndrome suffer from seizures, intellectual and physical disabilities. I have been doing work with this foundation to help get it off the ground, we are raising money for research to find therapies to help give these kids a chance at independence. We have already raised over $11k but that is far from enough to find a therapy or cure. Twitch would be an amazing platform to do additional fundraising through. Please consider adding this…
