Pinned Moderator-Messages
Hello! I think everyone knows about this problem... You're chilling in a big stream with around 20.000 Viewers and the Moderators need to inform the chat about something. Well, since there are so many people in the chat, moderator-messages are gonna be overlooked really fast. So, I've came up with the Idea that moderator are able to "pin" messages that will be shown above the chat for maybe 5-10 seconds or until they get "unpinned".

Sorry for my english... I hope you could understand my Idea c:

This is an idea we’ve discussed internally on a few occasions. I can’t make any current commitment to timeline because we have a few things we have to do first, but we would like to provide this feature.

agreed! we tend to use the poll feature to attempt to do this but it would be so helpful if there was an implemented feature

push. Would be glad to announce technical problems, important things like upconing events or so.
Please implement that.

A lot of the time as I moderate when chat becomes properly busy any blanket statements I make about the way chat are interacting are lost due to chat moving so quickly. For example, if chat are spamming the squid emote consistently a message I send telling everyone to stop is pointless until they do as the message is lost to all of the squids. I suggest implementing a moderator broadcast command "/broadcast {message} {duration}" or some similar syntax. What this would do is where polls usually show up at the top of chat, a message would show which could be a blanket statement to change the way chat are acting at that time, for example, "Stop with the emote spam" or "Please try not to backseat game" or whatever, depending on what most of chat are currently doing against the rules at that time. And after the duration has ended that message, which everyone should have now seen, disappears.

I've seen some streamers use the /poll command for this purpose. It's not an ideal fix, but should work for most situations.

this with new system of pinned messages (like bits, extensions) sounds great

that would actually be amazing for some of the larger streams... chat can get pretty insane at times

its a good idea but we dont really need this, but if twitch teams add this, its cool and usefull, but if they dont its not a problem
