Ban Pepe emotes!
The character Pepe has been a hate symbol used by the alt right racist groups since 2016. Apple, Facebook, and other platforms have all banned its use. I'm so tired of adding the emotes to the ban list of my channel. Nearly at 1,000 at this point, which I know is likely a small amount compared to what is on Twitch. I request that Twitch puts its foot down on the topic, even though it is 8 years late. Twitch bans the oddest of emotes that aren't an issue, but this mascot of racist groups is apparently fine? Please remove it! So many communities I'm in have been having to manually banning it from chat. This should be a Twitch-side issue. Stop allowing this character as an emote!

This is news to me, and while the ADL Does recognize it COULD be used in harmful demeaning way, does not mean the meme in its entirety is.
"However, because so many Pepe the Frog memes are not bigoted in nature, it is important to examine use of the meme only in context. The mere fact of posting a Pepe meme does not mean that someone is racist or white supremacist."
Context is key, and the meme itself by nature IS NOT the mascot of racist groups. IT IS when coupled with bigoted, demeaning, and offensive language and symbols.
Again, I state, Context is key, is most anything.
Troll face is also recognized as a hate symbol by the ADL, but again only in context.
