Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

Anonymous cheers/bits/sub gifting should always be allowed. All 3 allow for someone with a bigger wallet who wants to drop those on a content creator to not deal with DM spam or @ messages, begging for handouts. Sure, some want to be known, but not all. Removal of any of these also pushes those who want to support anonymously to do so through PayPal or other means, which results in Twitch not getting a % of that.

Saw someone mention the Twitch mobile app got updated and now is like TikTok. I looked. It is and it is horrible. That layout is fine for short-form content, such as TikTok, but live streams? Seeing only 1 user I follow at a time and having to swipe through them all until I find the one I want to view is highly annoying. PLEASE revert this horrible change. Previous Twitch mobile was just fine. Now it is garbage.
