Revert new app changes
Please revert these new changes made to the app. I can’t use the app properly anymore. When I open twitch I want to see my follow list, who’s on and what they are streaming, not some random stream that starts playing.
Also where did the “continue watching” list go? I can’t see it anywhere. Do I actually have to go through profiles and search through vods and try to remember which specific vid I was watching?
Wow! These new changes are a nightmare, please revert to the original format before I delete the app.

The placeholder text for chat should NOT match the color of typed text.
Typing ":3" and hitting enter sends a <3 instead, selected from the emote list
The <3 in said emote list is showing up as an html entity of <3 rather than <3
The Subscription notifications claim someone is subscribing for a large amount of months in advance, and might be using the subscription streak for this number
Sometimes tapping in certain areas on a stream (e.g. Profile picture) that was loaded in the past 1-3 seconds will cause you to tap on an area hidden behind the video, usually on the activity/fragment that was previously loaded.
I have more but I didn't write them down

Live View is still the dumbest idea ever implemented.

All this time later and the app is even worse now than it was then. But I'm saving a lot but no longer buying Twitch Turbo and only paying for 1 sub a month. My bank account thanks you for this series of bad decisions.

Allow us to hide Twitch chat while watching on mobile. I don't want screen space taken up by one or two messages that I don't care about.

These changes are unbelievably bad! I can't refresh the Live view, I'm constantly killing the app and restarting to get an updated live view.
Horrible!

I still use the browser to watch twitch on mobile - ever since new changes released. My main issue was the non-optional autoplay. No. Drains my battery and costs twitch money when they actually say they want to save on costs. Yes as limiting as the mobile browser experience is, I still prefer it over the twitch app experience. Just my 2 cents.

I hardly use twitch now.
It’s still the same awful look. But you can now pause the video that auto plays somebody from your followers list.
Which was my main upset as I follow people who are crafters but who also hunt. I don’t watch the hunting. But it was auto playing.I still hate the overwhelming design and think it was much better when it was simpler and it still crashes a lot.

It's actually just fine now, they brought back the following/continue watching page so I'm happy
They can have the tiktok clone video feed thing if they want as long as it's optional

Yes, it's still complete trash. I only have it installed to get go live notifications. I've saved a ton by not subscribing to Turbo and only using my free Prime sub, so I guess I can thank them for that.

Is the mobile app still garbage? I deleted it not long after the update.

whoever thought this was a good idea has 0 experience in watching twitch. the “live” tab is the worst tab ever and should never exist, literally what’s the difference between the live and following? i just want to see my following list of channels. also where are the videos tab like desktop has? there are no ability to see the vods of streams that are shown on desktop, on mobile. mobile is literally the worst

Since a few days the iPad app has started occasionally booting up with the old UI again and oh my god it's such a relief whenever it does. Finally I can properly use the app again.
The recommended channels list as well as the discover page are incredible ways to find new streamers. I can't imagine how it could possibly be an improvement for discoverability to have them gone.
In the new UI I could barely even find the streamers I was already following, let alone anyone new. Please keep this, reverting to the old UI is the best thing that the tablet app could possibly do.

i find it so much harder to watch clips. find new people to watch. and just looking who is live. i usually could look pretty easily for new people to watch, and now i just find it a bit of an hassle. i have used the app so much less cause it’s just so annoying to navigate now. and the only way i can see recommended streamers is to look at something that has tiktok vibes. it’s awful and so sad.

Im really very super happy that the following page and the continue watching part of the following page are back! It's so easy to once again so who's streaming among the people I'm following and what specifically they're streaming and doing. And it's easy again to continue watching vods that I've started! 😄
However, for some reason whenever I try to watch a stream clip, it's in portrait mode. Whyyyyyy. It's so painful to watch like this, I can barely see any of what the actual stream screen looked like and therefore I have next to no context for the clip! Please make a setting to put clips back in landscape mode again I'm begging you
Twitch is it's own app that people use specifically because it's Twitch, specifically because it is a streaming app. Not because it's TikTok. Trying to copy Tiktok only annoys all of your consumers who came here specifically to watch and engage in streams

Unfortunately, at this point I just have to put it into words what really bothers me about the Twitch mobile app developers.
I should point out that the following words can be very harsh, but they describe my feelings about the mobile app.
I feel like a victim who is greeted with the words Work makes you free, which used to mean coercion and lack of rights. The behaviour of the app developers therefore looks to me like those who support the ‘Arbeit Macht Frei’ motto of Auschwitz by simply presenting users with something they don't want or have never asked for. But apparently companies with an American background no longer like the freedom to let users decide what they want, because dictatorship is always better than democracy.
I would love to talk about a different feeling, but at the moment I can't, because it's up to the ivory tower developers to improve it. But I don't trust these people, provided they are human beings and not an AI.
In general, I think Twitch's communication with its users and customers could be improved.

Big step forward with the Following list, almost there, still need the option to make it default.
Massive step backwards with removal of Audio Only and the ability to listen to music in the background or with screen locked - how does that make sense? Mobile browser still allows listening to music, for now.

I've just had an update for the iOS tablet app today and it has made Twitch utterly unusable.
The handy easy to use list where I could quickly see who was streaming and a list of suggested live channels I do not follow yet is gone, and now my only option is to laboriously scroll through all the streams with large thumbnails that only shows maybe 6 at a time on the page.
The Live tab is even more useless as it only shows one single stream at a time, and I can't even control which one.
The Browse section is equally useless. The extremely large thumbnails for the different categories make it very awkward to find things I'm looking for because, again, it limits things to at most 6 items on screen at a time, which is far too few.
I am using a tablet with a large screen for a reason. I want more information on it, not less.
Please revert all these pointless changes. If I want TikTok, I will go to TikTok. I go to Twitch to watch Twitch. The previous layout was more than good enough. If Twitch does not return to a useable format soon I will be forced to look for alternatives.
