Automatically refresh stream page when broadcaster goes live

Before you implemented the new player you didn't need to refresh the page when a stream went live. Now you will not even notice when a stream goes live unless you refresh the page.

Example:
Current behavior:
1. Go to offline stream page (ex https://www.twitch.tv/reckful)
2. Reckful starts his stream
3. Nothing happens and the user has no idea that reckful has gone live even if he has had this tab open for hours

Wanted behavior:
1. Go to offline stream page (ex https://www.twitch.tv/reckful)
2. Reckful starts streaming
3. Stream starts playing instantly

I know that this worked previously with the old flash player, so is this feature gone because of limitations in the HTML5 player or was it just overlooked?

    I'm on firefox. It is a bit annoying that you have to refresh your page constantly just to see if a streamer is Live or not. (I have email noties).

    But whenever a streamer goes live it should refresh the currently offline tab.

    The pc notification saying a streamer is live barley pops up aswell.

    The most interesting aspect in regards to this issue is that you're already sending a kind of push notification to the Web Browers as the "LIVE" label appears below the channel name but the stream itself doesn't start and still show the offline image until the page is refreshed.

    Especially in mod view. I cannot stress enough how obnoxious it is to sit at the computer having to continuously refresh the page because it won't display the stream. I'm on desktop on Firefox

    Be great if this was fixed - it's been an issue for a while but a LOT of people have been complaining about it again recently. It sucks that people who go out of their way to be in a stream early miss the first few minutes because they're not constantly refreshing.

    twitch already does this, but only in the browser and only if you have the tab open and the recommended video/stream playing.
    and it's a bit glitchy.

    EXCELLENT IDEA! This would make stream crashes far less frustrating. I always lose all the homies that had lurks open for me

    Twitch already does this as far as I know. Although sometimes it doesn't work.

    (If it is a limitation maybe WebSockets could be a solution)
