Change panel arrangements
The current panels that show below the stream player is just awful in it's current state, it's so bad, it doesn't even align up where you think it's going to align up after you switch off Edit Panels Mode. I want to see a better panels view where it'll show exactly where and how panels display on the page, because dragging things around just doesn't move panel to where I specifically want them to be and ends up arranging them in awkward places where it doesn't properly align where they should be placed.
Here's what you should do to make editing and customizing panels better;
1 - Split up columns into 3 so you can drag and drop panels into each of them in order from Left to Right, Top to Bottom where you want them to be, and in the order you want them to be displayed as.
2 - Show a preview window of how it'll look on the page once you finished editing your panels and placements.
3 - Separate out the Widgets from the Panels into maybe a tab or something like "Stream Widgets" where the user can just click on them to see what the active widgets are on the channel. Widgets on panels aren't all the same size so it kind of screws with the layout of panels, so it would make sense to put these into their own tab section where it won't really matter how they're laid out.

Almost two years after last bump, four since the original suggestion, and no reaction from Twitch. Same problem, almost same suggestion. If the stuff already suggested is too hard fix, maybe just make the columns even out, so it doesn't look like this: https://i.imgur.com/uO7u2kC.png

the ability to save different panel layouts would save streamers plenty of time and open up a new way of streamers expressing themselves. the agility to save different panel layouts allows streamers to have different channel layouts for different games, events, streams, etc.. and example that i thought of was for someone streaming a ufc game, for a championship fight the panels would be diffrent to reflect the championship fight.

I agree, I laid out the panels as I required in 3 columns which was on my stream with the chat visible. Once I had finished I had navigated to the "About" section to find it was completely different as the layout now had 4 columns.
I don't mind if this is how it lays out, but I would like to manually override the different layout sizes. I.e. The ability to set the layout for 2, 3 and 4 columns.
It would make my about section more consistent rather than them moving around.

BACKGROUND: There are currently different layouts for the panels in 1, 2, 3 or 4 coloumns depending on whether you are on mobile or desktop and what sidepanels you have open (chat etc.)
ISSUE: These different layouts cause the panels to become misaligned when the viewer changes into these different states.
FEATURE REQUEST: It would be incredibly helpful if we could set our panels for each different coloumn layout.
