If you're going to increase the preroll time from 30 seconds to 45 seconds, let your users know and have them be skippable like youtube
There has been no word about this from twitch, but after testing it myself as a viewer and streamer I've noticed that preroll ads are now 45 seconds long.
I am not tuning it at the tail end of midrolls, I tested this earlier today (10/31/2024 at 2:38AM Eastern). I do not have the ads manager on and I only run 3 minutes of ads during my starting soon screen to disable ads for the first hour of stream and let prerolls go after that.
About two and a half hours into stream when I 100% have prerolls on, I asked someone who had just joined how long ads were and they responded with 45 seconds. This brings me back to my title. If you're going to increase the preroll ad time even as a test, users should know. Especially since it's a 50% increase in time. Otherwise have prerolls skippable like youtube ads.
