I wasn't chosen for the test luckily, but from what I've seen on the twitchsupport twitter account the update is awful.
The home page should stay how it is and default to the following page and not autoplay anything. There's a reason I even bookmarked "https://www.twitch.tv/directory/following/live " on desktop. The first thing I want to see is a list of streamers that I follow who are live.
The feed tab can stay an option as long as it's not the default, also move stories to the feed tab so it stops taking up space in the following tab.

While I'm glad the stories turned into icons instead of those previews that took up more screen space, I want the ability to opt out of seeing stories at all. I just want my following page to just show who's live and that's it.
Changing either the "Feed" or "Discover" tab to a "Social" tab and throwing it there would be ideal. Currently, even if there aren't any stories available I still have the "add to my story" icon which takes up the space that could be used to show those I follow who are live.

Not a fan of the added clutter on my following page, especially if there's a banner ad. If stories are going to stay I'd rather they be either in a different tab, be a small icon like instagram, or at least have the ability to choose which streamers I care enough about to want to see their stories.
edit: if we get the ability to only hide individual people's stories, I want to be able to hide the ability to even post them. The "+ My story" will still take up space that could be used to display people I follow who are currently live.

Regarding the experiment: "Starting in May, select users will see the discovery feed as the home page of the Twitch mobile app, as opposed to seeing the Feed tab."
Don't make it the default. If anything, give people the choice for those who want that to be a thing.

During game/expansion releases I try to avoid spoilers as much as I can, and even preview images can spoil big moments.
Instead of having to temporarily unfollow people and losing your follow streak, I suggest the ability to temporarily hide categories from showing up on your following page.

Another feature twitch won't let us opt out of.
First it was stories, then the mobile redesign (which they only heard the feedback about autoplay but not the feedback wanting to keep the following page the default), and now this.
