Please don't block the video stream with Ads
In the middle of watching someone's exciting steam, an ad pops up covering the entire video while chat continues. Chat is then going crazy because something awesome just happened, yet we were unable to see it because an ad was covering the video stream. What a disappointment.
Make the ad go into a corner with sound or something, but please do not block the whole image. That's the reason why we are here, to watch the steamers. You want the ads for monetary gain, fine, but find a happy medium where you don't disappoint your customers. Badly placed ads drive more people away than keeps them.

Just wanted to update this thread that we are doing an experiment right now with Stream Display Ads! These are less disruptive ads that allow viewers to see and hear Creators while being displayed. Creators will receive ad revenue for each SDA shown. You can find out more information here: https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/status/1603148201489580032

I can’t agree more I got on the forum to try to see if all the ads came with a new patch or something I literally could not stand to watch today I would get 6 ads and then 30 seconds of the stream and another 6 ads it happened with multiple streams all day long it’s not even worth watching some games because there is 3 minutes of action and it is always getting cut out by ads

I’ve been watching twitch for nearly a decade and I’ve never been as annoyed by the sheer amount of full screen ads as I have in the last 24 hours.

Have been watching a Heroes of the Storm streamer tonight and in 3 of 4 matches there was 3-4 ads in a row. And I missed the ending in everyone of those matches. I see a fight start and when I come back one of the teams have won the match. So I missed all the excitement. Not even a point to watch the stream really. Better to wait for the YT upload. Is that really how it should work?

This is how a service fully commits to showing that they have lost the purpose of their service. This completely says "Our purpose is to show you ads, and you have no choice about their timing or content" and not "You can see what a user you chose is hosting for you to see."

When i go to a channel, i'm forced to sit through an ad that completely blocks my view of the stream. I'm not against ads per se, but i AM against ads that block my stream.
A small banner or some thing like that on the bottom of the stream would be more appropriate and would make me a lot more willing to remove my ad blocker(s).
