Include Gift Subs in the Partner Plus program
The Partner Plus program is a great step in the right direction for creators on Twitch and I am grateful for the opportunity for a 70/30 split.
However, this program should include gift subscriptions.
The requirement of “a sub count of at least 350 recurring paid subscriptions for three consecutive months” is only achievable for a small percentage of streamers, even those with a high CCV that qualifies them to be in the top 1% of the platform. It is not only difficult to achieve for even those dedicated to Twitch, but having this requirement may even discourage gift subscriptions in communities because being gifted a subscription could take away the possibility of somebody subscribing on their own. To continue to increase revenue for both content creators and Twitch itself, it is essential to encourage gift subscriptions.
I believe there are multiple solutions that could be discussed to allow gift subscriptions to count in the Partner Plus program while still being beneficial for all of us:
1) Include gift subscriptions in the 350 sub requirement
2) Add an additional requirement of 350 recurring paid subscriptions OR 500+ gift subs (or any other number deemed profitable/reliable, I just put 500 as a basepoint suggestion)
3) Extend the requirement for gift subs, example: 350 recurring paid subscriptions over three consecutive months OR 350 consistent gift subscriptions over six consecutive months
So many of us have stayed dedicated to Twitch and prioritized subscriptions as our main source of revenue (me included). Now more than ever, encouraging gift subscriptions is essential for success for us all.

Gifters are those who choose to generously support a streamer and their community. Their money, their choice. It’s a real sub. Twitch is getting a real sub payment. A streamer should not have this work against them on their partner plus goals. All subs should count the same. While partner plus is a step forward, it is not a full stride. A rule such as this is backhanded.

While I understand the decision to not include gift subs initially is probably based on that number being volatile, it is definitely doable to offer an alternative and increase that requirement to to factor in the risk. I want to see more of my streamer peers make this program - if their community gifts subs to support them it's because they want to see them succeed! I favor a 500/*** total with gift subs considered.

You take a cut from gifted subs, include them in the metrics that allow creators to get a portion of that funding.

Medium size streamers are going to get hit hard if gift subs dont count.

It doesn't make sense to not include gifted subs towards Partner + if they get to count towards the 100k threshold for the 70/30. either they count or they don't.

If it wasn't for gift subs I wouldn't have taken out *active* subs for a number of streamers. Don't underestimate how important each and every one of them is. At the same time, every time someone has gifted me a subscription, I'm more likely to return to a streamer to keep viewing or gift another sub to someone else to "pay it forward". In that situation EVERYONE wins.

PLEASE INCLUDE THEM. I feel this change makes the most difference when you include gifted subs otherwise it feels weird

Twitch is at a crossroads, where the relationship between the platform and its content creators desperately needs reevaluation. For far too long, this partnership has been heavily one-sided, with Twitch treating its streamers as if they're naive children. This condescending attitude and, at best, rudeness towards its users have left streamers feeling disillusioned and disenchanted. It's only a matter of time before Twitch realizes that it needs streamers just as much, if not more, than streamers need the platform.
Its essential for Twitch to foster a deeper understanding of its users and content creators, acknowledging their significance as the backbone of the platform. Currently, it's painfully evident that Twitch's decisions are primarily driven by profit motives, rather than a genuine concern for the well-being of its user base. The platform must realize that streamers are, in a sense, its employees. And just like any successful business, it's vital to keep employees happy and satisfied for the overall health and success of the enterprise.
The time's come for Twitch to have someone sensible at the helm, making decisions that prioritize the needs and aspirations of its user base. The platform must shed its short-term profit-focused approach and adopt a more sustainable, long-term perspective. By building a better relationship with content creators, Twitch can ensure a healthier and more mutually beneficial environment.
As an expression of frustration and disappointment, I have made the difficult decision to depart from Twitch, at least for the time being. Each time I attempted to go live, I found myself overwhelmed with irritation and anger towards the state of the platform. It pains me to witness the joy being sucked out of the gaming experience on stream.
Nevertheless, there's hope that Twitch can regain its footing. It's my sincere wish that the platform takes the necessary steps to rectify its shortcomings and reestablish itself as a reliable and supportive partner for content creators.
In conclusion, the ball is in Twitch's court. Lets hope that Twitch will rise to the occasion, fostering a healthier and more respectful environment, and rebuilding the trust and admiration it once enjoyed.
Goodbye for now, Twitch.

Someone in another discussion mentioned that Twitch may not allow gift subs to count because someone might “game the system” to get the 70/30 split. But how is it gaming the system when that is still real money? We have seen people suddenly get 3000 subs in one month and those people were made partner even if they didn’t have 3000 followers yet… so why does Twitch suddenly care where the money comes from? Since the raised percentage is only good for one year, if they are gaming the system, that split won’t last for long.
Or make it last only for every six months instead of a year, but allow gift subs to count as well. Also, Tier 2 and 3 should count for 2 and 5 subs in the sub count, respectively.
Also, I agree that excluding gift subs will harm everyone’s revenue. I would have to ask my big gifters to support me in a different way for the month prior to the Plus program beginning as well as the duration of the time trying to reach the 350 subs count , in order to hopefully increase the chances that some of those gifted subs might subscribe on their own… that seems like we’d all be taking a hit to make this program even begin to work. I would probably ask them to do this via a tip goal or my Patreon, not bits. It doesn’t seem this is helpful to very many people. But maybe someone with 100CCV and 120 paid subs isn’t who they are looking to reward with this program. Hopefully people won’t hurt themselves or their communities by pushing so hard for something that is not attainable. -

This is a wonderful suggestion to make this small step forward into a massive one. 💜 It makes a lot of sense.

Gift subs are an endorsement to a streamer, it still gives revenue to twitch and there's the possibility of the giftee continuing a subscription. (I have done so). Why gift subscriptions or prime do not count is beyond me, but it feels like an exception for exception's sake and that's not good for people. I am fully behind this assertion.

This benefits only a few people and I imagine it was inspired by several of the high earning partners jumping to the other guys.
What it feels like though? The CEO took a larger bonus for themselves, the board of directors and their top shareholders.

Completely agree with what Tragic has to say on this matter. Lets make it more attainable for all, and profitable, for all who have worked so hard to become Partner on Twitch.

Why does the Partner Plus program exclude gift subs? Most streamers revenue comes from gift subs, not individual subs so to exclude this from the 70/30 revenue split I feel is pretty unfair considering you already took the 70/30 away from Partners and now you're only giving back to the top of the top. What about the rest of the partners?
