Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.

Twitch is at a crossroads, where the relationship between the platform and its content creators desperately needs reevaluation. For far too long, this partnership has been heavily one-sided, with Twitch treating its streamers as if they're naive children. This condescending attitude and, at best, rudeness towards its users have left streamers feeling disillusioned and disenchanted. It's only a matter of time before Twitch realizes that it needs streamers just as much, if not more, than streamers need the platform.
Its essential for Twitch to foster a deeper understanding of its users and content creators, acknowledging their significance as the backbone of the platform. Currently, it's painfully evident that Twitch's decisions are primarily driven by profit motives, rather than a genuine concern for the well-being of its user base. The platform must realize that streamers are, in a sense, its employees. And just like any successful business, it's vital to keep employees happy and satisfied for the overall health and success of the enterprise.
The time's come for Twitch to have someone sensible at the helm, making decisions that prioritize the needs and aspirations of its user base. The platform must shed its short-term profit-focused approach and adopt a more sustainable, long-term perspective. By building a better relationship with content creators, Twitch can ensure a healthier and more mutually beneficial environment.
As an expression of frustration and disappointment, I have made the difficult decision to depart from Twitch, at least for the time being. Each time I attempted to go live, I found myself overwhelmed with irritation and anger towards the state of the platform. It pains me to witness the joy being sucked out of the gaming experience on stream.
Nevertheless, there's hope that Twitch can regain its footing. It's my sincere wish that the platform takes the necessary steps to rectify its shortcomings and reestablish itself as a reliable and supportive partner for content creators.
In conclusion, the ball is in Twitch's court. Lets hope that Twitch will rise to the occasion, fostering a healthier and more respectful environment, and rebuilding the trust and admiration it once enjoyed.
Goodbye for now, Twitch.
