Bad Raid Requirements
I just noticed the recent changes to people setting raids after a stream how the requirement is now pushed to minimum of 5 viewers and over. I have to say this in REALLY bad, because this hurts smaller streamers who might not have that many viewers watching their channel, only to see their own raids turn into hosts instead. This essentially cripples streamers ability to be noticed when they raid someone after finishing a stream, it was already bad enough when you crippled it so that people can't raid/host channels from 1 viewer, which is fine I guess, but to change the requirement to 5 viewers is bad overall.
I want to recognise the people who raid into me even if their viewership isn't that big, I don't want to see someone just show up as a host to my streams when they set a raid. it just makes their raids seem less significant. This is something that needs to be reverted to how it was before.
I keep seeing stupid changes like these being made on Twitch that make no sense at all without any careful consideration of what it ends up doing to streamers as a result. Case in point like how you were gonna force mid-roll ads on streams, and immediately people pointed out how bad that is.
Hey guys! We really appreciate the feedback that has been brought forth in this thread and just wanted to update you a little bit on what is going on.
This change was originally made to guard against raid bot attacks. While smaller raids are currently viewable in activity feed in the dashboard, we are working on a solution that treats raids equally while guarding against abuse tactics.

So, did the support help you?

If the requirement to trigger the alert is 5, then you should update the setup of the alert to reflect this. When I toggle the alert condition to be "Raided with at least", the system defaults to 1 and no mention of "full activation will require at least 5, otherwise you will receive only a text alert". And again, communication is important, Twitch! I had to google in order to find this out!

I mod for a channel that regularly averages 400-500 viewers and I've noticed, at a certain point, that small raids below 5 no longer get shown. I think it might be when the view count reaches at least 350, and the streamer is always disappointed when a small raid arrives with no alert, which has led me to believe Twitch has implemented something where small raids stop being shown for larger streamers.
What I don't understand is, there used to be a feature in the Creator Dashboard where you could determine the minimum raid to trigger an alert, yet you say these restrictions were out in place to combat bot attacks. Doesn't make sense to remove this feature.

And yet you did it AGAIN @dowski. We told you this only hurts the small channels back in 2020, why do you freaking insist on pushing this? BRING BACK THE SMALL HOSTS!

Is this still a thing? If it is, very bad move on your part. If you need to increase it past 1, make it 3, the affiliate average requirement. 5+ can be difficult for some people who just do it as a hobby once in a while.

The raid notifications received by IRC is still very inconsitent. One raid that occurred with a single viewer was announced as normal, but another raid that occurred with the same amount, was not.
Should it not be a case that these IRC notifications go through regardless, or that the streamer has the option to set a threshold for them to do so?

this new update made it to where even if I get a 10 people raid I dont get to hear the alert and thank them for the raid.... great job twitch....

Larger creators should also be able to use higher settings like a couple of hundred, to avoid clout chasers raiding them just to advertise themselves.

@koiflow, this is the most ridiculous statement. You do know that there is an achievement for twitch that says you need to raid with more than two people. Bots will raid no matter the amount it is set too.

It's to stop bot attacks. Anyone with under 5 views is fine hosting.

Maxim_Land If you're seeing raids in chat but an alert isn't showing, that's a Streamlabs issue, not Twitch. You'll need to check the alert settings to see if you have this turned on. If it is, you should contact Streamlabs support team.

Don't have raid events since few months, I see info only on chat. Using Streamlabs, other events work normally. I had raids of a few viewers usually, but last week had a raid with 12 of them, and still no event on screen. For me its still totally messed up.

This new requirement still causes problems with certain streaming software, making it impossible to create in-stream alerts for raids.

@Bernateles That was 3 days ago though, the 1 person raid I saw was today, so Twitch must have done something between 3 days ago and today.
Just to be clear, I saw the chat notification and SLOBS alert that a streamer was raiding with a party of 1, not in my own stream, but a streamer I regularly watch.

It doesn't mean nothing @SteTechGaming, because all raids are trigger on slobs but when I go on activity feed on twitch the raids doesn't show up there and 3 days ago I received a raid that slobs alert doesn't show up but then on twitch on the activity feed was there that raid

Looks like the issue has been resolved. Just seen a party of 1 trigger a Streamlabs alert on a stream I'm watching

Doesn't show up in activity feed whatsoever, hurts small streamers who use raids to network and grow. I personally find it discouraging and Twitch continues to impose new gates against small communities. Is the intention of Twitch to push small streamers onto other platforms?

I have been feeling disheartened this past while because I have had reduced average viewers, but finally hit that 100 follower mark, which was a massive pick up. So done an 8 hour celebration stream, and then raided. I raided somebody whilst on a high from having such a good time, being so proud of reaching 100 followers... for no raid alert to appear because I seemingly am not important enough to be recognised by anybody because I am not high enough in the hierarchy. It was such a blow to my self esteem, and my feeling of progress and achievement, all because I did not quite have enough viewers.
