Include Gift Subs in the Partner Plus program
The Partner Plus program is a great step in the right direction for creators on Twitch and I am grateful for the opportunity for a 70/30 split.
However, this program should include gift subscriptions.
The requirement of “a sub count of at least 350 recurring paid subscriptions for three consecutive months” is only achievable for a small percentage of streamers, even those with a high CCV that qualifies them to be in the top 1% of the platform. It is not only difficult to achieve for even those dedicated to Twitch, but having this requirement may even discourage gift subscriptions in communities because being gifted a subscription could take away the possibility of somebody subscribing on their own. To continue to increase revenue for both content creators and Twitch itself, it is essential to encourage gift subscriptions.
I believe there are multiple solutions that could be discussed to allow gift subscriptions to count in the Partner Plus program while still being beneficial for all of us:
1) Include gift subscriptions in the 350 sub requirement
2) Add an additional requirement of 350 recurring paid subscriptions OR 500+ gift subs (or any other number deemed profitable/reliable, I just put 500 as a basepoint suggestion)
3) Extend the requirement for gift subs, example: 350 recurring paid subscriptions over three consecutive months OR 350 consistent gift subscriptions over six consecutive months
So many of us have stayed dedicated to Twitch and prioritized subscriptions as our main source of revenue (me included). Now more than ever, encouraging gift subscriptions is essential for success for us all.

Commenting again because, the more comments I see, the more I realize that if Twitch doesn’t think gifted subs count for anything, they should give streamers the full value of the sub price instead of taking a cut. Other platforms are doing it. I would imagine Twitch probably made enough money back with all their layoffs they can afford this now instead of just putting another carrot in front of us that many will foolishly work towards and sail while Twitch collects the increased revenue at the current split percentages.
On a general note, it worries me that Twitch seems to be coming out with all these schemes and weird ideas and making so many changes… as someone who has made Twitch their main job and put thousands of hours into it, it worries me a lot for the viability of the platform. -

the gift subs should count, but they also need to change the way channels up up in the categories, generally the smaller channels can end up right at the back

All partners should get 70/30 or you shouldn’t have made us partners. The more things Twitch does like this, the more ift looks like becoming a partner is pretty worthless to them. Which is sad because many of us did the grind for years to attain it.

I streamed full time for 6 months, my community was amazing. Now I don’t even want to go back, the support for affiliates is disgusting, unfair and inhumane.
I worked my *** off working 50-60hr weeks trying to make ends meet because I get half of my earnings, literal bread crumbs and only earnt basically the same amount as a minimum wage paying job. No wonder I don’t want to full time stream anymore. Do better twitch, the tendency to manipulate and betray others for personal gain is the recipe for an evil corporation, don’t lose your humanity. -

There is no reason why gift subscriptions shouldn't be a part of it. You want to take a large cut of what streamers make from gift subs compared to reoccurring subs???? That's potentially most of what is made from subs for a streamer! Why would you expect streamers to put in the effort for Twitch/Amazon to make a killing when they will make a small fraction from it??? They'd be better off going to YouTube, or another streaming platform. Don't take those who make your money for granted. Like it or not they can and will leave you if they must to make a living. They don't work hard for the success of Twitch. They work hard to pay rent, buy food, and to just exist. They are not part of a money making machine and should not be treated as such. If Twitch keeps going down this path it can and will die.

Why is this only for Partners? Make the 70/30 site wide.

I voted but 70/30 should be the minimum EVERYONE makes. Wether its partners or affiliates. And it should not have a minimum sub amount. it should be the base payment just like on all the other platforms. Stop stealing money that you do not earn.

Some quick math based on the information we have from Stream Metrics shows that this affects about 2.5% of partners, and .016% of all streamers as it stands - which makes this whole thing just about fortifying the top of the top. Allowing for gift subs would make this an actual, positive change in momentum, and make it attainable without it being unrealistic.

This change would allow partnered streamers to dedicate more time to streaming!!! If this went into effect I would be able to stream full time and be able to support myself rather than having two jobs. This would make becoming a Twitch partner that much more valuable!!!! Please!

Guys you are really shooting yourselves in the foot! Give creators what they want or this will be the next mixer! Kick is a massive rival and once the smooth out their kinks you’re gonna lose a lot of creators, unless you change!!

Currently, only 2.5% of Partners active in the past 3 months are eligible for this program under current rules. This change would open things up considerably.

I'm not a Partner (yet), but I know this would greatly benefit a few Partner friends of mine. Please reconsider, Twitch. 💜

I think allowing gift subs would invite abuse, for sure. Give your friend money to sub bomb your channel for three months, essentially buying your way into the 70/30. A better solution would be having a lower sub goal that involves only paid subs. 200 would work. Btw, I didn't vote in this because I think there should be more options to choose.
