Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

There is no reason why gift subscriptions shouldn't be a part of it. You want to take a large cut of what streamers make from gift subs compared to reoccurring subs???? That's potentially most of what is made from subs for a streamer! Why would you expect streamers to put in the effort for Twitch/Amazon to make a killing when they will make a small fraction from it??? They'd be better off going to YouTube, or another streaming platform. Don't take those who make your money for granted. Like it or not they can and will leave you if they must to make a living. They don't work hard for the success of Twitch. They work hard to pay rent, buy food, and to just exist. They are not part of a money making machine and should not be treated as such. If Twitch keeps going down this path it can and will die.
