  1. It is not uncommon for an extension to be activatable in multiple slots, giving the broadcaster placement choice.

    However, whilst extension developers offer this flexibilty they may want to prompt/suggest that the streamer installs the extension to a specific slot.

    Please provide a way for Developers to mark a slot as "recommended" and update the UI to show a "Recommended" badge next to the slot in the extensions/manage UI

  2. Some of us have websites- eCom stores, information websites, etc. I have a PC hardware review website and would like to wish to integrate it just like Youtube. I wish Twitch had the tools that worked.

    Twitch has embed code separately for viewing and chat. But it's rather a general code that has fixed width and height. You'd think a big platform like Twitch would have an official WordPress plugin with a responsive design. Also, plugins have better compatibility with WordPress.

    There are plugins for Twitch, but they have long been discontinued. There are so many websites out there that…

  3. It would be great for alerts, and goal bars to receive the sub count information along with each event, similar to the progress on hype train, they push the total, goal, and progress in each event, so the precedent is there for eventsub to expend on the core data. Something similar to the dashboard data would be great

    {
    "count":1,
    "score":1,
    "countbreakdown":[{"plan":"1000","count":1},{"plan":"2000","count":0},{"plan":"3000","count":0}],
    "score
    breakdown":[{"plan":"1000","score":1},{"plan":"2000","score":0},{"plan":"3000","score":0}],
    "nextlevel":{"minimumscore":15,"emoticon_limit":2}
    }

  4. This is something with the intention for client rather than server side.

    So the idea is to subscribe to the streams.online topic but instead of specifying a broadcasterid you specify a userid. This topic would give the streams.online notifications for the broadcasters that the user is following and has notifications enabled for. You could subscribe to streams.online for each broadcaster a user is following which is indeed a possibility but at the same time cause a problem as some people follow a good 200-300 channels of which for quite a lot they probably don't even have notifications which…

  6. You get free tools to differentiate your platform. Passionate developers try their best to make amazing products, how hard is it so difficult to make their products visible for streamers?

    Multiple suggestions:

    • a monthly highlight message on twitch twitter (put the spotlight on a great extension)
    • improve the extension dashboard by removing the top categories based on their function. This should NOT be a standard to get the top spot.
    • let developers upload videos/trailers on the extension page.
    • make a simple checkbox, that allows developers to send updates (email, chat notification) to streamers that opt-in for updates. (how do developers…

  7. Some extensions would benefit from drops such as being able to award in-extension items or coins, based on view time, and would be a great way to promote usage of extensions, especially non-game specific extensions, that could be tied into an existing drops campaign if the game developer makes the extension themselves. If you have a variety streamer extension that runs on every game, then we don't get the benefit of the draw of drops.

    I’m going to mark this as a long-term consideration as this is not currently being investigating, but may be something to consider in the future. The Drops product today is tied to a Twitch category and to provide similar functionality for Extensions would most likely be a different implementation that would require time to investigate.

  8. In order to send a chat message via https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/extensions/reference/#send-extension-chat-message you need to know the current active version of your extension. There's no way to retrieve information about your extensions' versions.

    There's one way which is kind of roundabout, by first using /extensions/${CLIENT_ID}/live_activated_channels to get a list of users, then using /helix/users/extensions/list on one to find the extension again and get its version there.

    This could be much quicker to find if live_activated_channels had a version field with the live extension version (it only ever returns a list of channels using the live version).

    There could also be a /extensions/${CLIENT_ID}/versions endpoint…

  9. The endpoint /helix/subscriptions?broadcaster_id=USER_ID doesn't return the data from the most recent to the oldest subscriber.

    We could maybe use /helix/subscriptions/events?broadcaster_id=ID but the data here apparently doesn't last more than 5 days or so. This doesn't work for small streamers who don't have a lot of subscribers coming on a daily basis, for example.

    Suggestions:

    1. Create an "order" parameter to the first endpoint, so we could use like /helix/subscriptions?broadcaster_id=USER_ID&order=desc&limit=1
    2. Make the second endpoint return the latest "forever".

    The first endpoint seems buggy, the data being returned comes in random order and the pagination cursor is always present, even if I clearly…

  10. Some extension depend on user interaction in a timely manner.

    I'll use our fantasy Fight LIVE as an example. Here viewers can challenge other viewers for a duel. When this happens, the "other" (challenged) viewer gets a short hint "You have been challenged by XY" and two buttons: Accept and Decline.

    Now, as an Overlay Extension this works perfectly well.
    In a Component Extension the experience is very different. Usually a component is "closed" - That means the viewer can not see what's going on. We have no chance to notify the user that something is happening.

    It would be…

  11. There should be a way to at least enable/disable or pause/unpause rewards that the Client-ID used didn't create. This makes sense since if I'm a moderator I can pause/unpause events that I didn't create for the channel in question. Even if it's a separate endpoint to prevent different bots from "writing over each other" I think this would be the best possible feature to add.

    Possible bias: This would make my Channel Points Rewards (Twitch CPR) Game Profile system just that much slicker. ;)

    Best part; Could just be a paired-down version of the current "get" function of channel point…

  13. Currently requires two un-needed requests https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-users-follows and https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-streams
    (Instead they could just include a ‘live’ parameter in the first request.

  14. So you send a request for a subscription event

    add a optional

    --terminate xs

    there xs is number of seconds

    You send the subscription event then x seconds later automatically send the unsubscribe that has the same parameters as the subscription.

  16. https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/extensions/reference#helper-viewer

    SNIPPET STARTS

    onChanged
    Twitch.ext.viewer.onChanged: void function(callback: Function())

    This function binds a callback will be invoked when the viewer’s status changes (e.g. if a viewer subscribes and changes their subscription status).

    SNIPPET ENDS

    Cannot tell if broken or only triggers on subscription status change.

    IE is it supposed to trigger on role changes? If so it's bugged, if not the documentation needs to document what does cause onChanged to be called

  18. Developers only have access to get and update redemptions for the rewards they created.

    There are some uses cases where a "god token" would be useful to manage all rewards on the channel regardless of this limitation, a scope can be created to allow access to all rewards.

    A calling application may want to dynamically modify the price of the "modify emote" or "highlight my message" but won't be able to currently

  19. The ability to specify an existing reward that exists as a basis on creating a new reward would be useful. (This would clone the image/other set parameters as well to the new reward)

    Use case:

    Channel points to pick a "team" the user would be in.
    Today there are three teams, so clone the pre set (disabled) one three times.
    Tomorrow there will be four, so clone four times.

    Image would be the same for all four.

  20. I would like to have a way to access a list of CHANNEL REWARDS available for a given channel. Without authentication would be nice, as anyone can see it in the website regardless.

    Another additional data provided if the API call is authenticated with the said channel, would be to see the status of the claims (Accepted, pending, refunded) so that the projects based on those can know if it was accepted or if it can be safely removed, in case of a refund.
