  2. While the API doesn't support channel point goals at all right now, I think it would be beneficial for developers to have ways to read the progress of channel point goals, for example for displaying the progress on overlays or having events triggered when it finishes.

  3. In Twitch v5, the Get User Subscription endpoint contained a created_at and a streak for the current user subscription for a broadcaster.

Helix, lacks this functionality, and thus it is impossible to determine how long someone has been subscribed for, and also impossible to determine if they've renewed their subscription.

These fields are imperative to some applications, especially ones that want to externally reward members monthly for each month they've subscribed. Please return these fields to the endpoint!

  4. With the new Raids API, it should mirror IRC where channel editors can trigger raid/unraid. Currently, this is not supported (need broadcaster user access token). Until this functionality is added, I will not be migrating to Helix Raids

  5. Within EventSub's channel.follow event, it would be nice if there was info about if the follow originated from a Shoutout, and who the Shoutout was from.

This would be useful for stream overlays, so the notification can say something like "[Viewer] followed, thanks to [Shoutout Origin]'s shoutout!"

  6. The URL

    https://dashboard.twitch.tv/widgets/guest-star/barrycarlyon?auth=REMOVED&display=single&slot=1

    Isn't supported in an iFrame.
It would be beneifical for this to allow easier developer adoption/usage of guest star for some use cases

  7. Currently the Prediction endpoints (and EventSub data) only contains the top predictors for outcomes in a prediction. I propose a new endpoint, located at something like: helix/predictions/predictors that takes as input a broadcaster_id and outcome_id, and returns a paginated list of all users who have contributed to a given prediction outcome, along with the details of their prediction (essentially the "top predictors" array, but containing all predictors).

This could make predictions even more interactive- a streamer could, for example, draw two word clouds showing all predictors for each option "battling" each other.

  9. The ability for the dev to set and/or provide options which allow the configuration of a video component's iframe anchored position on the video player, left, right, top, bottom, etc, as well as optional constraints to what anchors are available. Currently only right side of the player can be used.

I believe this option would increase the potential use-cases for video components as different sections of real-estate can have different levels of importance for whatever your video component has been designed for.

Alternatively adding pop-out functionality to video components.

  10. If the redirect URI of a registered app is set to http://localhost the redirect URI check must work regardless of the port, so if I start the flow using redirect_uri param to "http://localhost:3000" this should work (same as Github is doing).

This will ease the development of desktop applications that requires oauth2 flow.

  11. The extension can request subscription status as a feature. If the feature is enabled and the user is linked the subscription status can be looked at using Twitch.ext.viewer.subscriptionStatus

It would be handy to have similar functionality for following status. Whether the viewer is following or not.

There is helper functions for actions.followChannel and a callback for action.onFollow

It could be that an extension has additional features if the viewer is following a channel that are not available to viewers that are not following.

To figure out if the user is following the channel currently would require getting a moderator:read:followers and…

  12. Please add the total amount of cheered bits and subs that occurred during the hype train to the channel.hype_train.end event. These numbers are already visible above chat and in the activity feed after the train finished.

It currently only contains top contributors, but not overall numbers from all contributors. The top contributors could be improved as well, as it only contains a total integer. When that total is 5000, it could be either 10 tier 1 subs, 2 tier 3 subs or a mix.

The overall total integer is even worse as it has bits mixed in there as well.

  13. While it works on Android, it is still impossible to use iframe embeds on web-based mobile iOS apps. The reason being that iOS' WKWebView expects <schema>://<host> in the CORS headers returned by Twitch. Twitch uses the parent parameter to generate those headers. Unfortunately, iOS prevents the use of http://, https:// and file:// as schemas and forces us to use a custom schema like ionic://localhost (or anything else) for accessing local files.

The request is to add the ability for twitch embeds to return a CORS header that can match a custom scheme like ionic://localhost.

    I read through all…

  14. Currently the limits for the normal account type allow to check 12.5% strings per minute compared to just sending those via chat to test if they pass automod restrictions. This drops to 2.08% per hour. (This drops to 2.5%/min and 0.42%/hour if the ability to have VIPs is unlocked)

The current rate limit types also seem to assume that larger streams are affiliate and or partners which is not necessarily true as there's game publishers who hold game release streams with easily 50+ viewers while not being partner/affiliate and channels who have decent amounts of viewers but do not stream…

  15. In the web UI, moderators are able to complete/reject redemptions. However, the PATCH https://api.twitch.tv/helix/channel_points/custom_rewards/redemptions API endpoint requires the reward to be created with the same client ID that is used to update the redemption, or it returns a 403.

This restriction is needless when considering the aforementioned leniency on the web UI.

  16. Twitch has one of the most intelligent and tech savvy user bases of any product I can think of. If Twitch were to make their documentation source code Open Source, members of the community that are tech savvy enough will do your job for you.

I just went through the documentation when trying to figure out how to make my first banner and my first Video Player Banner. I am unaware of what a "Video Player Banner" as someone that does not normally watch much Twitch but is attempting to start to learn more about it.

    As someone that works…

  17. Without code samples/examples, I find the documentation minimally useful. I've got a clientid, clientsecret, appid, appsecret, token? Bearer token, eventsuburl, callbackurl, etc. While I appreciate you listing what RESPONSE might look like, it would be nice to see at least a basic "hello world" code sample. For example, since minimal auth (none?) is needed to subscribe for when a streamer goes live, it seems that would make a nice example of the overall flow.

  18. Currently, using https://api.twitch.tv/helix/channel_points/custom_rewards to DELETE a reward will mark any UNFULFILLED rewards as FULFILLED.

While this already feels wrong, it would be nice to be able to send an optional parameter that can set the status to CANCELED instead. This should help reduce the number of requests to Twitch and make it more manageable when having to delete more than 50 pending redemptions.

The current way we manage this is to get a list of all pending redemptions on the reward and then send a status update for 50 of them at a time before deleting, but if the goal…

  19. Due to the removal of the stream tags_id a few weeks ago, it is no longer possible to tell from the tags whether the stream is a "sub-only" stream.

Maybe, so that the JSON is not unnecessarily extended by another point, the information could be added to the new custom-tags. Preferably as a fixed string without localization.
