Twitch category name collision
Currently two (or more) games with the exact same name (usually reboots) share the same category in Twitch. And all the cover art, description, tags are taken from only one of the games. This usually means that the other game(s) effectively completely lacks a page on twitch, despite being a completely different game and having unique gameplay. Can something be done about this?

I understand your point. It can be frustrating to see unrelated content in a category that is meant for a specific video game. Your preference is to watch people play "Cars: The Videogame" rather than seeing older individuals working on their cars with inappropriate posters in the background. It is important to maintain the integrity of the category and ensure that it is used appropriately for its intended purpose.

there's a "Cars" category on twitch, but it's related to "Cars: The Videogame", which is the game published by Disney and by many people it's misunderstood with a category where u stream things about cars and not the game. Some people stream a real cars related things in this category. My idea is to change Cars to Cars: The Videogame and create a cars related category

This is a very annoying issue. Example: there are two games named "Outlive":
https://www.igdb.com/games/outlive - 2001 RTS
https://www.igdb.com/games/outlive--1 - Horror game.
The game category for both of them is https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Outlive , which is the Horror game.
Now if someone decides to stream the 2001 RTS game it will be impossible to find them by going into the game category because it will redirect to the horror game page. Another game example:
https://www.igdb.com/games/mafia--1

This is happening with Pokémon Stadium (the N64 game you know) and Pokémon Stadium (an unlicensed fighting game). Really annoying to stream the game people know and get the cover art for some random fangame.

It seems the Levelhead community's efforts to restore its original category has just resulted in the capitalizations being changed to "levelHead" (for the 2008 game, the one that nobody has played here afaik) and "LevelHead" (for the 2019 game). While these changes might be viewed as acceptable, this hasn't changed our situation since Twitch's URL identifiers aren't even case-sensitive.
We'd still like our original category back, thank you very much, as well as a solution for other communities impacted by this.

IGDB can handle games that have identical names. A well-known example is DOOM (1993) and DOOM (2016). The actual name of both games is just “DOOM”.
However, Twitch itself apparently can't handle this properly:
• If you type in one of these game names in the video editor's category field, two entries with that name will show up, but both will have the same cover art.
• If you use the normal twitch search for categories, two entries with that name will show up with different cover art, but they both link to the same category.
• Using one of the alternative names registered in IGDB doesn't let you work around this, Twitch resolves it to the canonical name. Please fix this. The different games should be different categories. If that's not possible, at least avoid the category showing up as two categories.
I'm not sure if this request belongs in the IGDB forum since it's not actually an issue in IGDB, but rather how Twitch uses it for categories.

When I search for it on Twitch, it seems to crash. IGDB is also showing my artwork on a different Ghosted page than my game, and it would be nice if this could be fixed manually.

There are two game with the same title (multiplatform commercial horror game Saturnalia from 2022, and adventure game Saturnalia from 2017, made for Ludum Dare ) on IGDB and the two games are getting merged together on the Twitch side of things, resulting in the older game being shown (cover / description) on streams for the newer game.
Is there a way to separate the two?

Given this issue is being actively ignored by Twitch, I would recommend asking the communities of affected games to vote this up and raise awareness.

Running into this problem with my upcoming game as well.
https://www.igdb.com/games/slipstream
and
https://www.igdb.com/games/slipstream--1Twitch seems to get information based on the title, rather than the unique id. All the information in IGDB is correct. This appears to be a Twitch problem.
