Resurfacing something I said a while ago: I encourage raising awareness of this issue in affected communities so that it gets more votes.

Twitch is actively ignoring this issue and providing no recourse for small communities, so the only thing we can do is get more people to complain about it.

"God Of War (2005)" had its year added to the Twitch category to "fix" the collision issue even though the IGDB entry is just "God Of War". This was done manually by Twitch because it's a high-profile franchise.

Could we PLEASE have a way to do this for other games affected?

IGDB rejects game title changes because of this bug, simply pointing us to this neglected thread. If we could just fix the category itself like God Of War did, this wouldn't be nearly as big of an issue.

Given this issue is being actively ignored by Twitch, I would recommend asking the communities of affected games to vote this up and raise awareness.

I think the God Of War case confirms that Twitch KNOWS of this problem, they just choose not to fix it. I'm guessing it's because they don't want to make the URL more complicated, choosing to have a simple-looking product at the expense of smaller games getting screwed over.

If that is the case, it annoys me that the IGDB response to this issue is directing people to this post, which is actively being ignored. As a reminder, IGDB is operated by Twitch.

Unfortunately, Twitch is not likely to take action while this has such low visibility. Most games impacted by this have small communities so the only thing we can do is raise awareness and get more votes here.

This is still an active issue. It should not be hard to at least include the release year for disambiguation when there are duplicate names, although falling back to an ID would be better.
