  1. It is hard enough finding trans representation in our daily lives. With the LGBTQIA+ tag, one still needs to browse through channels and spend time in them to find trans streamers. A "trans" tag would help people searching for these communities.

Today we are rolling out 350+ tags, including the transgender tag, to provide you with more options on how you express yourself and your content, so that you can more easily connect with one another and build wonderful communities. We are really appreciative for all of the feedback around this topic (and other related suggestions).

We previously told you that we had a better solution to this request than adding the tag, and we were wrong. This has been one of the most popular requests we’ve heard, and the simple truth is that we should have done this sooner. In an effort to think carefully about how to best address this, we only made the situation more difficult. Again, thank you for helping us throughout this process in reevaluating our stance.

Please continue to share ideas and feedback you have to UserVoice, as well as any suggestions for additional tags…

  2. Hey everyone!

I would like to request a No-Hit tag that will help creators and viewers find other no-hitters within the community.

For context, No-Hit runs consist of finishing a game without being hit once during the entire gameplay. I have noticed that there are several “speed run” tags, but none for this type of gameplay and this could be a great way to discover new creators and game modes.

At a personal level, I also host a No-Hit weekly talk show called “Informe No-Hit” that features the best runs of the week and a yearly No-Hit tournament that features…

    Hey all!

Thank you so much for the passion on this post. This has been one of our fastest growing UserVoice posts ever.

We have gone ahead and added a ‘No-Hit’ tag to Twitch for use on your streams or for you to filter by to find new streams!

Thank you again for this feedback and please let us know about any other tags you would like to see added to the site.

    Hey all!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!

As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.

We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.

Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

  4. Creative and IRL used to be categories on Twitch. Everything that wasn't games was in Creative. This means everything from Bob Ross to ASMR (let's be real that's the same thing.) was all in one place and entirely unsearchable.|

Twitch broke up Creative and IRL into a bunch of new and rad categories to help discoverability. This included Music, Art, Beauty, Food, Just Chatting, Tabletops, ASMR, Science & Technology, and others. This category splitting really helped a lot of smaller communities grow. It was easier to find new and interesting streamers because you could now discover them in an otherwise…

  5. The rise of the VR industry and the relatively new phenomenon of Virtual Streamers and Virtual Youtubers has made impact on sites like Twitch as well. There is a very large (800+ and growing) community of streamers on twitch who use a virtual avatar combined with face tracking software to use instead of webcams. VR is already a tag, but it would be nice to distinguish this category for those who use avatars and may play the role of a character. (like HoloLive, for example) It's not much different than having Anime as a tag, for example.

    Thank you very…

    HeyGuys!

Super excited to share that we now have a “Vtuber” tag on Twitch!

In the past I had posted on how tags were aimed at the stream and not the streamer, but we have changed our thinking on this as of today and added more than 350 new tags, including this one.

Changes like this are possible because of feedback and threads like this so I just wanted to say thank you again for sharing feedback with us.

For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

  6. ironMON is a new Pokemon challenge that has been gaining a lot of popularity on Twitch over the past year. You can now find dozens of streamers at any given moment streaming attempts of the challenge across all Pokemon game categories, with Fire Red/Leaf Green currently being the most popular. A tag to help with discoverability would be a great addition and would be widely used by the ironMON community

Great news! The IronMON tag is now live on Twitch for all your stream challenge needs!

Thank you so much for your feedback on this, this might be one of our fastest growing tag ideas of 2022! As always if there are other tags you would like to see added please feel free to make an idea so the community can vote on it.

  7. Every time I am trying to find a programming or game development stream to watch (which is a very specific type of stream) I get lost in all the growing plants and raising chickens 24/7 streams. While on the other hand there are a lot of programming and or game development streams that really deserve their own category. Being a part of the live-coders community I feel that splitting science & technology in a more granular way would benefit everybody. Both in terms of search-ability and clarity.

  8. Dungeon Alchemist is an AI-powered map making application for fantasy games that allows you to create high-quality maps easily and fast. Similar to Townscaper, it allows people to make fantasy maps with just a few clicks.

We expect quite a few people will be streaming their mapmaking, but DA was rejected from IGDB because it's not exactly a game. That's why I would like to request that it be added as a separate category, so people can properly categorize their streams.

    Thank you!

  9. The Twitch community would benefit if there was an “Animals & Farming” category. There are currently over 200 animal based streamers on the platform, spread out over many different categories, making it difficult to find them. Animal streams attract a specific type of viewer, usually looking for a slower paced stream, where they can relax and make long-term connections with other viewers. It would be much easier to find this type of content with a new “Animals & Farming '' category, helping the community grow and support each other.

Furthermore, animal based Twitch streamers provide content to many thousands of…

Excited to share we launched an Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos category! All of your Very Good fluffy, feathery, or fin-covered friends, all in one otterly adorable place. Thank you so much for this feedback and if there are other categories you think are missing from the site please let us know!

  10. The black community has always deserved representation in every single space that we exist in. There are content creators who feel invalidated because we are unable to find other members of the black community on Twitch, especially during a time that we need to stand as one. The black community deserves representation, validation and acknowledgment. We deserve a black tag so that we can find, communicate and uplift each other.

    Please create the black tag.

  11. Twitch should be allowed to be a place not just for entertainment, but also for learning and education. People who wants to stream educational content are currently not allowed to participate on Twitch, unless they are artists or programmers. Twitch is one of the largest streaming services, and while there is plenty of educational material on the internet, there is a lack of interactive, free to use services for interactive classes. Twitch could become a fantastic plattform for students, teachers and groups who wants to learn in a more interactive environment, that they can't get with other learning resources on…

  12. Support for games on Linux can be inconsistent, and it's really helpful to be able to see how well a game runs on the OS when making purchasing decisions. A way to easily find other people streaming on Linux would be a boon.

    Hey guys!

Just following up to let you know that this has been resolved!

We are back to one category for Age of Empires II!

Thank you for the continued feedback on this.

  14. With a recent update, Twitch merged all remakes of games in the directory with its original game for whatever reason. Now remakes of popular franchises such as Legend of Zelda, Resident Evil, etc. are all fighting over visibility in the same directory. This is also a problem for remakes of games that have completely different names from its original game, such as Kirby Nightmare in Dream Land, the remake of Kirby's Adventure for NES released on GBA, who's directory is now completely gone because ????

I don't understand what the point of this change is. There was absolutely nothing wrong…

Update: we are now able to support a handful of new game types from IGDB, including remakes, remasters, expanded games, and forks – all new game types that have been introduced on IGDB (see the updated documentation at https://github.com/twitchtv/igdb-contribution-guidelines/wiki/Type)

This means that we can now restore nearly all of the titles that have been reported missing in this suggestion, and we are working to do so!

Thank you for your feedback and patience! We will close this suggestion for now, but please feel free to open new suggestions if there are additional games that you find are missing!

  15. Disabled gamers often face more or different hardships than abled streamers do. There are so many amazing users on Twitch who are disabled, and they deserve a "disabled" tag. Disabled streamers need a way to find each other and weave our communities together, and disabled viewers need a way to find streamers they want to watch and connect with.

    Hey all!

We have gone ahead and added the following religious tags to Twitch:
    -Agnostic
    -Atheist
    -Buddhist
    -Christian
    -Hindu
    -Jewish
    -Muslim
    -Pagan
    -Sikh
    -Taoist

Thank you so much for the feedback about these tags. We totally understand that this does not cover all religions so if you would like to see a specific tag added please feel free to create a new idea and we can look into adding it to the site as well.

  17. There is already a tag for Unity and for Unreal Engine but none for Godot. Godot Engine is an open-source engine that is growing a lot in popularity. This would help viewers find streams that relate to this engine.

  18. "Flow Arts": As the current world condition has taken us from previous live festivals and performance, many Flow Artists and Dancers are turning to virtual and broadcasted live performances of their talents. Traditionally, we as dancers, hula-hoop performers, jugglers, poi spinners and other similar disciplines, have had to gravitate towards the "Music & Performance Art" category. (With no specific tag identifying us as with Flow Artists, nor dancers). Now that Twitch has adjusted back to "Music" as the original category, we have migrated to "just chatting"; it doesn't really identify our community at all, among others that actually do feature…

Many people now work or study from home and the co-working community is a very welcoming and friendly place.
