  1. ironMON is a new Pokemon challenge that has been gaining a lot of popularity on Twitch over the past year. You can now find dozens of streamers at any given moment streaming attempts of the challenge across all Pokemon game categories, with Fire Red/Leaf Green currently being the most popular. A tag to help with discoverability would be a great addition and would be widely used by the ironMON community

    Hey all!

Great news! The IronMON tag is now live on Twitch for all your stream challenge needs!

Thank you so much for your feedback on this, this might be one of our fastest growing tag ideas of 2022! As always if there are other tags you would like to see added please feel free to make an idea so the community can vote on it.

  2. Hey everyone!

I would like to request a No-Hit tag that will help creators and viewers find other no-hitters within the community.

For context, No-Hit runs consist of finishing a game without being hit once during the entire gameplay. I have noticed that there are several “speed run” tags, but none for this type of gameplay and this could be a great way to discover new creators and game modes.

At a personal level, I also host a No-Hit weekly talk show called “Informe No-Hit” that features the best runs of the week and a yearly No-Hit tournament that features…

    Hey all!

Thank you so much for the passion on this post. This has been one of our fastest growing UserVoice posts ever.

We have gone ahead and added a ‘No-Hit’ tag to Twitch for use on your streams or for you to filter by to find new streams!

Thank you again for this feedback and please let us know about any other tags you would like to see added to the site.

  3. Dungeon Alchemist is an AI-powered map making application for fantasy games that allows you to create high-quality maps easily and fast. Similar to Townscaper, it allows people to make fantasy maps with just a few clicks.

We expect quite a few people will be streaming their mapmaking, but DA was rejected from IGDB because it's not exactly a game. That's why I would like to request that it be added as a separate category, so people can properly categorize their streams.

    Thank you!

  4. Having just had our previous campaign closed, stating that this is now solved by CUSTOM TAGS, this is absolutely not the case.

Twitch has always had music tags such as: Trance, House, Techno, Dubstep and others which sit directly underneath the Main Music Category.

Drum & Bass is equally as large a community on Twitch as any of those categories, and instead of enabling us to unify through a central music category, you state that Custom Tags is enough. It is not. It spreads our community out through all the general misspellings; eg. DNB, Drumandbass, Drumnbass, Jungle, Liquid, Neurofunk, Ragga,…

Twitch no longer supports "official" tags, but we have created a series of new genre-based collections including one for Drum and Bass.  This will aggregate all live music streams in a single, permanent location to bookmark here: https://www.twitch.tv/directory/collection/drum-and-bass-streams

This not only includes streams with the tags DNB and DRUMANDBASS, but also JUNGLE, LIQUID, NEUROFUNK, RAGGA, TECHSTEP, OLDSKOOL, LIQUIDFUNK, DARKSTEP, FUNKSTEP, ELECTROFUNK, and DRUMNBASS.

In addition, a shelf will also appear in our music directory featuring a selection of live channels when there are enough live music streams using the tag concurrently: https://www.twitch.tv/directory/music

    #DNB

  5. Bring back the ability to use regular tags. The custom tags are nice, but there is currently no option to use the tags we had access to before unless entering manually. The requirements for these custom tags (ie, no spaces) precludes some tags like 'body positive' or 'mental health'. Having the ability to choose from the multitude of tags that were recently introduced, as well as define user tags, just makes sense if you want to truly promote individuality. Using ONLY custom tags means that some people will be using tags no one else is, and therefore their streams will…

    Hi everyone!
We're thrilled to announce the launch of custom tag suggestions. This feature was inspired by the requests you have provided here on UserVoice, and we're so excited to finally be able to provide this functionality.
Suggestions for custom tags (1) reduce the chances of manual errors made by streamers when adding tags to their stream info and (2) allow viewers to more-intuitively explore existing tags to find content relevant to their interests!
We hope you'll enjoy this addition. Please feel free to provide us with feedback (https://link.twitch.tv/CustomTagsFeedbackUV), so that we can continue improving the ability for streamers and their communities to connect!

  6. The Twitch community would benefit if there was an “Animals & Farming” category. There are currently over 200 animal based streamers on the platform, spread out over many different categories, making it difficult to find them. Animal streams attract a specific type of viewer, usually looking for a slower paced stream, where they can relax and make long-term connections with other viewers. It would be much easier to find this type of content with a new “Animals & Farming '' category, helping the community grow and support each other.

Furthermore, animal based Twitch streamers provide content to many thousands of…

Excited to share we launched an Animals, Aquariums, and Zoos category! All of your Very Good fluffy, feathery, or fin-covered friends, all in one otterly adorable place. Thank you so much for this feedback and if there are other categories you think are missing from the site please let us know!

You can find out more information about the category and Animal Week on Twitch here: https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/11/01/animal-week-is-very-good-yes-it-is

  7. If I go into any category on twitch (browser only), lets say "just chatting", all I can see is streamers that are from germany, even though I have no language tagged. Someone else already reported the same issue for sweden. And it's only happening on my browser, on my twitch app for the phone it's not the case.

  8. Creative and IRL used to be categories on Twitch. Everything that wasn't games was in Creative. This means everything from Bob Ross to ASMR (let's be real that's the same thing.) was all in one place and entirely unsearchable.|

Twitch broke up Creative and IRL into a bunch of new and rad categories to help discoverability. This included Music, Art, Beauty, Food, Just Chatting, Tabletops, ASMR, Science & Technology, and others. This category splitting really helped a lot of smaller communities grow. It was easier to find new and interesting streamers because you could now discover them in an otherwise…

    Hey all!

We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!

As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.

We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.

Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

  10. The black community has always deserved representation in every single space that we exist in. There are content creators who feel invalidated because we are unable to find other members of the black community on Twitch, especially during a time that we need to stand as one. The black community deserves representation, validation and acknowledgment. We deserve a black tag so that we can find, communicate and uplift each other.

    Please create the black tag.

    Hey all!

We have gone ahead and added the following religious tags to Twitch:
    -Agnostic
    -Atheist
    -Buddhist
    -Christian
    -Hindu
    -Jewish
    -Muslim
    -Pagan
    -Sikh
    -Taoist

Thank you so much for the feedback about these tags. We totally understand that this does not cover all religions so if you would like to see a specific tag added please feel free to create a new idea and we can look into adding it to the site as well.

  12. There is already a tag for Unity and for Unreal Engine but none for Godot. Godot Engine is an open-source engine that is growing a lot in popularity. This would help viewers find streams that relate to this engine.

  13. Most average Twitch streams are not necessarily sensory-friendly for neurodivergent folks or just folks who prefer chiller spaces. I know we currently have a "cozy" space but cozy and sensory-friendly are not necessarily aligned.
Sensory-friendly looks like no loud alerts, no shouting, calmer visuals, etc.

I would love the opportunity to be able to communicate to other neurodivergent humans that my space will be safe for them and less likely to cause over-stimulation and I'm sure that other sensory-friendly creators would as well!

  16. Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia are learning disorders, just as the already tagged Dyslexia.

Over 10 percent of people have one or multiple of these (including myself). Having a tag there takes away the pressure of having to say yourself why you're struggling in a certain area, for example; finding it difficult to say a new followers name, or even why you're using your fingers to solve a simple maths problem from a game.

These three learning disorders are already struggling with awareness, even though as said previously a big amount of people have these.

Please can you add these as…

  17. The rise of the VR industry and the relatively new phenomenon of Virtual Streamers and Virtual Youtubers has made impact on sites like Twitch as well. There is a very large (800+ and growing) community of streamers on twitch who use a virtual avatar combined with face tracking software to use instead of webcams. VR is already a tag, but it would be nice to distinguish this category for those who use avatars and may play the role of a character. (like HoloLive, for example) It's not much different than having Anime as a tag, for example.

    Thank you very…

    HeyGuys!

Super excited to share that we now have a “Vtuber” tag on Twitch!

In the past I had posted on how tags were aimed at the stream and not the streamer, but we have changed our thinking on this as of today and added more than 350 new tags, including this one.

Changes like this are possible because of feedback and threads like this so I just wanted to say thank you again for sharing feedback with us.

For more information, you can take a look at our blog post at https://blog.twitch.tv/en/2021/05/26/celebrate-yourself-and-your-community-with-350-new-tags/

  18. Consoles we are playing should have their own tags. It would help people who enjoy certain consoles to find content they love. This can apply to current generation games and retro. Since Retro is a category that is healthy and growing with lots of talented and incredible broadcasters, it would be cool to have tags based on the system we are playing to help discoverability. Since streaming in each game tends to make the experience more fragmented, people tend to stream under the general Retro category. When streaming under retro using a tag for the system you are playing could…

NES, SNES, N64, Virtual Boy, GameCube, Wii, Sega Master System, Genesis, 32X, Saturn, Game Gear, Dreamcast, GameBoy, Amiga, DOS, Atari, Commodore 64, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PSP, N-Gage, DS, DSi, and 3DS

Thank you all for your feedback and please let us know if you have any other tag suggestions. Enjoy the streams!

  19. The number of study/co-working streamers has increased dramatically over the last few months and co-working is likely to become a very popular niche on twitch! Many people now work or study from home and the co-working community is a very welcoming and friendly place. Please add a tag so we can identify ourselves and make it easier for like-minded people to find us!

  20. Would love to see a vegan tag so that we can connect with other vegan streamers, build our community and promote education and advocacy.
It is always very exciting to find another vegan streamer in the wild. But it's very hard for us to reach each other on twitch as there are no community features that accommodate this. With plant-based nutrition becoming a growing market and the vegan movement getting larger day by day, I think that it would be nice for us to have a tag to further build that community.
