Drum & Bass Music Category (Official Tag)

Having just had our previous campaign closed, stating that this is now solved by CUSTOM TAGS, this is absolutely not the case.

Twitch has always had music tags such as: Trance, House, Techno, Dubstep and others which sit directly underneath the Main Music Category.

Drum & Bass is equally as large a community on Twitch as any of those categories, and instead of enabling us to unify through a central music category, you state that Custom Tags is enough. It is not. It spreads our community out through all the general misspellings; eg. DNB, Drumandbass, Drumnbass, Jungle, Liquid, Neurofunk, Ragga, Techstep, Oldskool, Liquidfunk and many more.

Please give us an Official Category Tag;

Drum and Bass.

Though we no longer create or support official category tags that aren't user-defined, we understand the issues that misspellings and related terms can cause. We are investigating a solution for this and other music genres that we hope to build out within the next year. We'll provide an update once we have more information. Thank you.

    How is this even a thing? EDM is like saying Acoustic Music means rock and folk and country are all the same. DNB is its Own category. EDM is so wide its now reserved for songs which are undefineably only edm because they use a computerized sound. The term has lost all meaning to describe the modern music scene.

    Having a DNB tag on Twitch is absolutely necessary to provide connectivity between similar channels and across the listener base. A dedicated category is essential to recognizing the importance of this genre, and to clearly provide direction to listeners as to how to find channels providing these sounds. Drum and Bass has been a key category of EDM for *thirty* years, and deserves its own designation separate from other electronic dance music genres. Drum and Bass is fully unique in its representative BPMs, style and sound. Allowing channels who specialize in this music to be appropriately tagged will avoid fragmentation in the industry amongst producers, streamers and fans alike. We believe this would grow our category and listeners across Twitch and beyond. Thank you!

    This is so necessary in 2023. I believe that creating a dedicated category would be an important step towards recognizing the size and importance of the Drum & Bass community on the platform. While Twitch has always had music tags for other music genres, Drum & Bass is equally as large a community as any of those other categories. Unfortunately, the lack of a dedicated category means that our community is often fragmented across misspelled tags, making it difficult for fans and DJs to find each other and connect. Adding a Drum & Bass category would enable us to unify through a central music category, making it easier for fans to find DJs and producers who play this genre, grow their communities and attract new fans.     Please Twitch! We need this and there is a large community here on Twitch for Drum & Bass. DnB is older then Dubstep by a decade or more and Dubstep has one.
