Allow channels to disable Hype Chat and manually approve pinned messages
Hype Chat is just an attempt to take a cut of standard non-bit tips, and is ripe for abuse by bad actors paying to pin harmful messages.
I propose the following changes:
1) The existing reactive moderation tools are not good enough; add a setting to make all hype chats go into the mod queue for approval.
2) Allow a channel to completely disable the hype chat feature.
3) Change revenue split to 100/0 in favor of the streamer.

#3 is a dumb ask this should be limited to just the ability for the stream to disable the hype chat feature on their channel.

Hype Chat is completely useless and I'm ashamed I have to tell people to avoid using it.

Absolutely wild Twitch would launch this without the ability to disable it.

At the very least MOVE WHERE THE HYPE-CHAT BUTTON IS LOCATED.
I understand that you want it 'accessible', HOWEVER COMMA, there have been no less than 16 TIMES in TWO DAYS where I was almost charged $140 because it's NOT A SEPARATE FEATURE from NORMAL CHAT USAGE.
This is DISGUSTING, and you're setting yourself for easy law-suits because of one-click purchases. RESEARCH THE FORTNITE DEBACLE for precedent.

Remove it completely or let us disable the icon in the message window. There's enough clutter as is. I don't need another icon I will never use. It's an eyesore.

Partners feel betrayed that they can't disable it. $100 minimum isn't good enough for many of them. Allowing people to just flat out disable it is important. The 100/0 split isn't as important to me, but 1) and 2) is very important to me.

Not only that, it's stealing from Youtube as they had "SuperChat" first, which this is purely a copy of.

So this is clearly only for Twitch to get 30% of streamers donations, by guiding viewers to use hype chat instead of donating. The same as Channel Classification is a way to be able to sell targeted ads now.
After all the things about safe space on twitch over the last few years, they are now adding things purely to make money, while making the platform way less safe and open to abuse. At least give us the option to turn this feature off.

Reposting from a similar thread but:
I’m genuinely also begging for this. The people on Twitch are here because we DON’T like the ways other platforms have set everything up. Twitch doesn’t need to follow YouTube’s lead it just needs to listen to what streamers actually ask for.
I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable that all of a sudden someone can come in and pin a message to the top of my chat with no control on my part.
I am EXTREMELY uncomfortable that I cannot disable this feature.
If someone says something creepy or off putting in chat, I can ignore it— if someone pays for a hype chat I am put in a MUCH more uncomfortably position.
Please give us the ability to disable this feature. Please give us the ability to make these comments go through some sort of moderation queue. We don’t want *less* control in the name of profit. We want to be able to have to tools available to be able to do what works best for our stream.
Please give us a choice.

Yeah hard agree. I hate that we can't just turn this off. It's just asking to be used for harassment.

Do not implement Hype Chat. It is the singular worst "feature" on other sites that use the same system. The only use it has is for scammers, spammers and trolls. Don't allow people to validate the importance of their own posts, even if they're paying for it.
