Live Chat Translation
Live Chat translation. I understand there is a variety of languages out there that people speak and only certain channels will allow x amount of languages due to chat moderation and such. But it would be a cool feature for mods to be able to use or for chat users/streamers to be able to interact with the community more! Instead of just saying we don’t allow that language or so the user doesn’t have to translate it using a 3rd party app. Ik there is extensions you can use but would be nice feature for twitch to have. Amazon did purchase twitch so I don’t see why they couldn’t use their existing feature of chat translation already but through twitch.

It would be nice if twitch implemented a translator for all chat rooms so that everyone who comes into that chat room regardless of what language they speak can take part. I follow a French speaking musician. And while music is universal, the chat is not. The host understands English, but I know very little french and am unable to understand what is going on in the chat room. Understanding chat would better help to understand the streamer and what they are saying.

necesitamos romper la barrera idiomatica entre los chatters y el streamer es cierto que muchos stream los dueños de canal hablan hasta 4 idiomas pero hay mucho anglo parlante y europeo viendo stream latino y ellos no saben escribir en español darles la herramienta para poder expresarse daria mayor inclusion dentro de la comunidad y tambien hacerlo viceversa

As streamers we are held responsible for what is said in our chat. If we are unable to read/understand languages other than our own, that presents a big problem. Limiting users to only our own native languages alienates many of our audience from being able to chat. I would love to see an option to allow streamers to turn on an auto translate for chat to our own native languages.
I feel this feature would solve many problems with interaction with viewers from other countries. Twitch is after all a world-wide platform.

I’m native Japanese speaker, and like to watch English streams. I watched some streamers who have many fans, so I know that they have put command in Nightbot about language spoken in chat. They ask chat to speak English.
I can understand why they asking that. Various languages spoken in chat which they can’t understand may bother them.
So the mods usually delete the messages which are not English whatever the messages mean. Even the messages are not bad comment, it get deleted because the mods don’t care what it means. One English comment said “not English comments are same as spam.” Isn’t this sad?
Well, my heart hurts. I saw a comment “Why no Spanish”(I gueesd he/she wanted to ask why Spanish is bad) with sad face which was typed by the person who chatted Spanish comments which was deleted immediately. Nobody answered to that person.
Arabic comments which was typed by people who seemed just having fun weren’t deleted instantly, but chat annoyed about that. They chatted, “Where are mods? Why they don’t delete them? Hurry up!”. The comments deleted after all.
The most shocking case was a Japanese comment. The streamer have played the game with an another Japanese streamer in English the other day. I also heard he had tried to learn Japanese. The Japanese comment was deleted though. I could understand the exact meaning because I’m native speaker. It was “Hello” in Japanese. That's it. He/she just greeted. Despite that, the comment was deleted as same as spam or bad comments.I’m really sad to see these. I haven’t seen like these in Japanese streamers, also YouTube. Japanese streamers who I watched didn’t delete another languages usually. They responded when they can, otherwise just ignored.
I can understand another languages may bother English streamers, but they are same “language”! Why is it good that a English comment and an another language comment which are same meanings deal with different? They are same meanings! Fine comments are fine and bad comments are bad whatever the language is!
I guess this happens because streamers are hard to deal with chat in various languages. So I really want to add a translation function in chat. My image is like Twitter’s one. It will be more good to translate the comment instantly in the language which a user set and put the button of “take a look at the original language sentence.” I think this will liven up whole Twitch as well, because it can stimulate communication between streamers and chat, and also between people who typed comments in chat.I like Twitch, but I’m tired to be sad. Please add translation function, please.

So i have been streaming for a little bit now. I really like watching twitch streams from other country's but its hard to talk to them because of language difference. yesterday i was streaming and 12 Korean natives stopped by. They Knew a little English but not enough to type it. it would be cool if chat auto translated so streamers or viewer could read the chat. i wanna know what they are saying in chat when I watch Non English streamers and it might help streamers reach more people

i was watching a russian streamer and enjoying the stream but without understanding the language or interact with him in the chat or with the other viewers, So it came this idea to my mind: what if twitch's developers start working on a pluging where it let type for example in english and it translate it automatically to the language you want to translate to in matter of seconds + they need to add an automated captions at the bottom of the screen and it doesn't need to be grammarly perfect and every word the streamer say it needs to type it, but only for faster comprehension (same idea of the captions under youtube videos)... it sounds like a really good idea and it'll make communities from all over the world closer and streamers can have fans from all over the world who can understand. i really still don't know why no one thought of this idea, i hope they will make it alive. (/////// PLEASE UPVOTE IF YOU LIKE IT ///////).

Many MANY non-english speakers try to be a part of online communities here in twitch but instead of being welcomed their messages get deleted or completely ignored , not everyone speaks English , what if the broadcaster could enable a real-time translator that could post below the users message the translation in English (or desired language IF that's available)
