[MERGED] Bring back colored /me chat messages + Update the /me command to color chat messages FOR MODS/BROADCASTER ROLES ONLY
Or at least give streamers the authority to enable or disable it. But the ENTIRE point was how it stood out with color. Plain black with italics just renders it useless.
Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

There was absolutely no reason to get rid of the /me feature. At least give the streamers the ability to enable or disable the feature.

I'm just not sure what it 'fixed'...I'm gonna miss all the different colors when we raid now. I like the idea of letting the streamer decide to enable it or not...I wonder which most would choose. TPFufun

It’s a massive backward step. Please don’t do it

the feature should not have been changed. **IF ANYTHING** give the streamer the choice of having the coloured /me or going with this new, boring version.

there was no reason to remove this feature at all, in fact it causes several issues to arise where there were none.

Literally, actually, factually NOBODY requested this change.
Italics would be a fine feature add, but not a good replacement for colored text.
If colored text has been abused in any way, a better way to tackle that would be to let streamers limit colored text to only being used in chat by mods and vips. -

Normal users = italic, VIP/Mod coloured...or better let the streamers decide which users can use /me. The current italic font is annoying and just pointless.

Every bot ever stands out because of the colour, so this is a serious nerf to legitimate and helpful chatbots.
The idea that this was a "requested" feature is absurd. I really don't think people are regularly getting jebaited by people using /me, and if they ARE, it's an education issue not a "let's nuke the feature" issue. It would have been possible to tweak the feature instead of nuking it.
Please bring back the colour.

In doing this change you are removing personality and engagement. Fix your mistake.

A lot of streamers will use /me when a raid is going on and they have a message that the raiders will post, it helps to filter out their regular chat from the raiders' messages

I use the /me for the timers for my bots so I can tell the difference between real people and the bots. Please change it back.

Options are awesome. Many people enjoy colour text, but many do not. Rather than removing a popular feature, allow creators the opportunity to choose for themselves.
I have never had issues with /me producing colour text, but an option would allow people who HAVE issues with it to remove it at their leisure.
Options are awesome. -

This should have been an opt-in chat option
A simple "/me Colors: Enabled/Disabled"
Forcing it on people is idiotic.

Change this back. It's hard to read, and the change was unnecessary.
