We apply IP bans in Chat based on users’ Moderation actions in certain cases. We don’t currently plan to publicize the logic we use because we think it would make it easier for bad actors to bypass the restriction.

We are happy to announce that we have released an update that addresses some of these points.
Channel Banned users will no longer be able to view the chat, and they will also be removed from your Chat list. There is an issue that has caused us to pause this temporarily, but we expect a fix to be out very soon – stay tuned to the Twitter thread below for the update.
Additionally, if you Block a user, they will not be able to subscribe or follow, and Blocking them will automatically unfollow them.

I will leave this topic open for your points about being unable to fully view the remaining content of a channel, and account creation.

This would be a platform-wide upgrade, starting with Twitch themselves.
Much of daily life is wrapped up in advertisements, but cutting into live content is such an interruption that casual viewers could be turned off the site entirely. Fit the ads to the medium.
Let us have our space, we're willing to share a portion, just not the whole screen please. 💜

Hey all,
Thank you for the patience with us on this. This has been one of the most popular ideas on UserVoice and we definitely heard your feedback.
Today we launched /announcement for mods and streamers. Announcements can be used in chat to highlight a message and are available in 4 different colors along with the channel accent color. Because this is only part of the ask of this idea we are setting this idea to partial release so the community can continue to leave feedback on this.

I feel like the new system has a bit higher potential for abuse:
Previously, all /me messages matched the user's color, and channel moderators rarely change their names, giving a bit of clarity for the sender.
They are now all the same color, so streamers now always need to read the message senders name.Boiled down, old /me was used to convey a person's thoughts (/me is very tired), but new /me always looks like a system/generic message.
Most of my channel's /me chats were sent by my robot moderator, and we have different color names to represent that. Trolls can dupe slightly faster now.An error occurred while saving the comment edgeofthefreak commented
Options are awesome. Many people enjoy colour text, but many do not. Rather than removing a popular feature, allow creators the opportunity to choose for themselves.
I have never had issues with /me producing colour text, but an option would allow people who HAVE issues with it to remove it at their leisure.
Options are awesome. -

Setting this to a partial release status as the majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

The folders idea is an awesome bonus, but even at a basic level, I'd like to see individual toggles *outside* of Twitch. StreamDeck, LioranBoard, or any other API worthy system for exporting this arduous task.
I have 24 redemptions for a specific game night, and it's too funny flicking all those switches manually. XD
