Pinned Message / MoTD
Ability to set a persistent message that stays at the top of the chat and is not affected by the rest of the chat scrolling up. Useful for information that may normally be constantly repeated through a bot command (ie. server IP, Discord server URL, social media, any relevant stream announcements like schedule changes, etc.)
Message stays up until the broadcaster (maybe editors, too?) removes it, so the message could stay up while the stream is offline as well (which also makes it useful to let viewers know of a stream cancellation).

Hi again,
We want to start off by thanking you for the feedback you have provided! We're excited to announce the launch of pinned chat to all channels! To recap, streamers & mods can:
- Pin any message in chat (regardless of which user posted it), by clicking on the pin icon that appears when hovering over an existing chat message
- Create a pinned chat message using the "/pin [message]" command
Pinned chat helps seamlessly bring attention to information that might have been missed by latecomers to your stream, or simply keep relevant information accessible when chat gets busy. You can read more about it here.
Again, we really appreciate the feedback you've brought to make this launch possible – thank you for sharing with us! Feel free to leave any new feedback or ideas via https://link.twitch.tv/UVChat.

The poll is something that is pinned. They just need to configure it a bit differently but it's something that can easily be done.

A message from the streamer that gets pinned to the top of the chat so that every viewer sees that message or frequently answered question immediately before they do it like 1000 viewers might have done before and the streamer has to keep answering the same question. (Example would be: Announced 12 hour stream does not take place today.)

Or it would be great if we could set a number of seconds, how long the announcement should stay pinned. Default is forever or like 20 sec. Idk. But please do not add just a default. We, creators wanna control this things!
Or an /announceoff command could close/unpin all announcements. This way we could control the time, how long the message should appear for the chat with a chatbot or so.
For sure, viewers should be able to click off the announcement if they wish in they chat.

The idea is relatively simple(conceptually anyway, I can't speak to the ease of implementation). The ability to pin an announcement to the top of the chat, so you don't have to run commands for things like your social media, and have it interrupt the flow of chat. I know you could add things to your overlay, but nobody likes a cluttered overlay. :D

As mentioned already, it's a big feature diff between Twitch and Youtube live.
Also as a mod, I agree that this will help streamers a lot. I've seen many times that chat is asking a same thing multiple times, and the streamer got to react repeatedly. In such scenario, this feature will work in a good way to help streaming.

Would be super helpful when we have guest musicians and want to pin their tour info at the top of the chat!

This would be good when a viewer wants the streamer to know something very important that has happened in the viewers life, whether good or bad. The note would alert the streamer and then the streamer and others could comment on it which would draw the community closer together. This would especially help with a large group in the stream.

The addition of /announcements is great and as a Moderator I love it.
There is one big issue that i've noticed though... it's sort of defeats the point if you have a very active chat. It will show up for a couple of seconds at best before it's gone.I think it would be great if we had the option to pin the announcement at the top of chat. Similar to how we can manage suspicious users by clicking a flag, maybe add a "pin" icon to the top right corner of the announcement. The pinned message would be at the top of everyone's chat.
So Example:
/announcepurple We are aware there are some technical difficulties with the webcam. The streamer is working their hardest to get it back online. Thank you :)After we hit enter, we can click a little pin icon that will be visible to the moderator or streamer to have that announcement pinned to the top of chat. When we are tired of that message being pinned, we click the pin icon again and its vanishes.
I understand there are similar requests for normal messages in the past; however, this is targeted at announcements feature which i feel helps those requests as well.

It would be really beneficial to pin a message to chat when offline to inform viewers of a delay or cancelled stream. It seems mad there is no way to communicate that on the platform we are actually late on! Not everyone follows every streamer on their social media/Discord so this would be a great way to communicate changes.

Hello, I came up with an idea that would be very good to carry out and that is that the content creator can leave a comment in the chat at the top blocked as: a link, a schedule, etc.
Thanks to this, it is achieved that there is no spam / asking what it is or if someone can transmit it again, since it would be a way to read and have more accessible what the creator wants to share. -

FOUR years later, how do we not have this yet!?
Would be great to let new chatters know about events, twitch drops, etc. as they enter the chat as a pinned message at the top.
+1 from me!

basically a feature to always see a message pinned to the top of the chat or just a message set by the streamer or mods.

Hello, I'm a mod in a few of the twitch channels and I came up with a idea that it would be very helpful to all of the moderators if they could pin a message. For example, the streamer wrote in the chat 10 minutes before the sheduled stream that he will be late by 20 minutes. And if any of the viewers come at the sheduled stream time and see no stream, they will ask in the chat "Why is there no stream?" or something like that. If the moderators could pin a message at the top of the chat for example, all of the viewers will come and see "STREAM IS DELAYED BY 20 MINUTES" and the moderators or the viewers who saw the message of the streamer won't have to say to every viewer that the stream is delayed.

I think we should be able to pin Messages to the top of chat kinda like youtube has but this would be better if people are doing playing with viewers and they need to post a link for viewers to join it
