shouts
Currently, Twitch allows creators to send automated Streamer Shouts to broad viewer groups, including non-followers who briefly visited a stream. Because there is no global setting to disable receiving Shouts from channels I do not follow, my only option to stop these unwanted messages is to block the streamer entirely.
This creates a poor customer experience for viewers and actively hurts creator discovery. I do not want to block creators from my recommendations, but the intrusiveness of receiving inbox Shouts from channels I do not follow forces this outcome. Users should be able to completely disable shouts to reduce push notification noise.

I agree. I have already turned off notifications for shouts completely, and am still receiving notifications about them when I log into Twitch. I don't understand why they're making the "toggle off" feature available if it is not actually available. I don't understand why they felt that we needed this feature *in addition to Stories*. At least those you can ignore easily. We live in a world dictated by little read badges trying to grab at our attention, and I turn them off on everything I possibly can; having another one forced upon me is ruining the experience. Until I could locate the option to turn off ALL Shout notifications, I was unfollowing people purely based on whether they were suddenly doing Shouts despite my spending little to no time in their streams. Why would Twitch add this feature without the ability to properly opt out? All it's doing is making me want to spend even less time on Twitch because they don't seem to care about the user experience, only what "neat" bells and whistles they can roll out that nobody asked for.

I would just like to be able to turn them all off completely as well. I know others would like to be able to choose which channels to actually get these from.

I agree that the notification settings need a lot more refinement (even if the current one worked as expected). If you spend a lot of time on Twitch, you can end up with a lot of these notifications.
In particular we need:
* The ability to turn off shouts from channels you don't follow
* The ability to turn off shouts from individual channelsPreferably this would be even more refined. Streamers sending shouts get to select what group of viewers to send shouts to, and it would be nice to be able to opt out of these groups individually. For instance perhaps I don't want shouts just because I was in a raid or was a new chatter, but I'm okay with shouts for regular chatters or sub anniversaries.

Adding that there is a disable notifications setting for shouts, but it doesn't seem to work.
