Increased transparency regarding platform wide buisness decisions
I've been streaming on Twitch as my main source of income for almost 4 years now, and for the most part, I love the platform. I like additional emotes you've supplied us with, I like the quality of the service and most of all I like the sense of community.
I'm not a massive creator by any means, but I've seen this pattern plenty of times before, with Patreon, Mixer, and Insagram to name a few.
A company is founded to give content creators a place to thrive. Creators come to the platform and for a while, they do thrive, making profits for themselves and the company. But at some point, something changes. It could be the shareholders demanding more, like with Patreon, or, it could be a buyout as it was with Mixer and Instagram.
The reason is important, and I don't want to gloss over that. I think the Amazon buyout has a lot to do with this. But the end result is always the same: the creators that made the platform what it is are the ones who are hurt.
I REALLY don't want to see twitch go the way of Mixer, but people do see the revenue cut for partners, the increased pushing of ads and other attempts to squeeze both creators and viewers for all they're worth, and while it may increase profits short term, in the long term, it significantly damages the sustainability of the service. If twitch weren't a subsidiary of Amazon, you would see its stock plummet from these decisions.
That's why I'm asking for increased transpareny in decision making. If we really are "in this together" we deserve cost breakdowns, and to know if Twitch as a service is losing money for Amazon and if it's at risk of being shut down. That's the only reason I can see justifying this level of blatant disregard for creators' needs on the platform.
And if this is just Amazon applying pressure, tell us so we can brainstorm solutions! They can handle the bad PR much better than twitch can at this point.

We really do need this, I dread seeing creator-driven platforms undercutting creators. Giving us the chance to figure it out together and being transparent would help.
