Provide "Help" For Twitch Users Who Are NOT Creating Content
The entire "Help" area is set up entirely on the assumption that everyone comes to Twitch to create content. There is absolutely no support for anyone who comes to Twitch to follow content created by others.
What kind of content would you like to see added to our Help site? We try to make articles applicable to people who view and create content, but if there is missing content you were looking for I would be happy to share that with our team.
OK, one more thing that isn't obvious -- and shouldn't need to be explained because it shouldn't even exist....
When you sign in to twitch, then come to the forum to read and respond to comments (such as NOW), it turns out that Twitch doesn't recognize that you are already signed in. So when you go to post a reply, suddenly it tells you that you need to sign in AGAIN.
I understand needing to sign in ONCE, but needing to sign in twice in a single session just seems stupid
That was helpful. Now that I know where to look, I see that hovering the mouse over the heart shows that it would unfollow. I had never found that before because I never looked there.
I was looking at the list of all the accounts that twitch had assigned me to follow (at least a dozen that I had never asked for!) but it turns out that you need to go to each account individually to click on the heart then click to confirm unfollowing.
I just unfollowed 11 accounts that I had never asked to follow, leaving just the five that _I_ chose to follow.
How to unfollow someone is the kind of thing that is obvious AFTER you have done it, but isn't nearly as obvious when you're sitting at the initial Twitch screen trying to figure out where all those "followed" accounts came from and why someone thinks you'd want to be following them.
@andrew31415976 you can unfollow someone you follow by clicking the heart icon on their stream, right next to the notification bell icon.
Well, I haven't gotten around enough to find other items that might be needed, but the first (and to me obvious) question that isn't covered in the help files is HOW DO YOU UNFOLLOW SOMEONE?
ALL the "help" content that I could find was focused 100% on the needs of people who join twitch to create content and attract followers. There are extensive tutorials on how to create a channel, how to upload content, how to manage the people who are following your channel, etc.
But I could not find any "help" for a person who comes to twitch to view that content. I think there was some "help" for people who cannot log in (although I'm not sure how they are supposed to get to it if they can't log in) and there is some help specifically for people whose accounts have been suspended (in what looks a lot more like a management error than the nonsense explanation that is provided where they restore your account and tell you that someone unknown person must have hacked your account and committed a bunch of violations).
My point is that once you do log in, there is a ton of help for content creators and no help for content consumers.
